Custom rules
Hello, I´ve been looking the ini files.. and learned that I can create custom rules...
my question is... I create the map(RA map) with the map editor... and when finished I open the mpr files with notepad and create the custom rules.. how do I publish now? it wont let me open the map later..

What do you mean with "it wont let me open the map later"? Even the stock editor supports custom ini content. It'll just read the stuff it knows, and keep everything else in memory, and write all that stuff back into the map when saving.

Really, just upgrade to the new editor. It has a section for adding custom ini stuff in the Map settings dialog, and has hugely improved error handling that always tells you exactly what issues it finds inside a map it opens. It will pretty much never just prevent you from opening it with some generic "failed to open map" error.

when adding in custom rules make sure to have a section name enclosed by [SectionName]

followed by a KeyName = Something , with a space separating the sections and usually it is above the [Basic] section

like
[Aftermath] NewUnitsEnabled=1 [SILO] Storage=5000 [4TNK] Speed=8 [ANT1] Image=ANT1 Name=Warrior Ant Primary=Mandible Strength=125 Armor=heavy TechLevel=-1 Sight=3 Speed=8 Cost=700 Points=40 ROT=8 Tracked=yes Crewed=no NoMovingFire=yes GuardRange=5 [Basic] ToCarryOver=no ToInherit=no

Note that the [Aftermath] => NewUnitsEnabled setting will be ignored when added in Mobius Map Editor's "INI Rules & Tweaks" section, since that setting is managed by the editor itself; it's a checkbox in the Basic settings section. The other options that can be put under the [Aftermath] section will work though.

Likewise, the [Basic] options "ToCarryOver" and "ToInherit" are in a brand new "Scenario" section :steamhappy:
