As for making them indestructible... no, there is no way to do that. If you want indestructible connections, use the straight fords, not the bridges.
Below is the default value for it, you can just copy/paste it into your map file with a text editor and change the value. I don't know if 9999 is max or if it goes beyond four digits though.

If your using Nyerguds new editor you can paste that into the rules section of the map settings
But yea, the code is literally all open; there's nothing bad in there.
In fact, the most likely cause for the fact your antivirus freaks out on it is that the program does a lookup in the registry. Well, the purpose of that is to auto-detect your game install folder in Steam, so you don't have to manually point it to the folder when launching the editor. So that seems pretty harmless to me.
But antiviruses are just paranoid as heck these days.
