Someone called AzureFang is already working on restoring the Pet House Kennel.
As of yet he does seek to restore everything removed tied to pets. Since you restored the Bowl, and you do seem willing for help, why not help him?
You can work together to restore both the pet food bowl and pet home together! It'll be awesome!

I plan to work on this and make it affect pet hunger and that pets will actually eat from it, for now, it's more or less a look pretty you can put food in.

Any help with this from anyone willing is appreciated.

Great idea. Can you make it so this effects your pets hunger? That it gets full?
That way after you feed it, it won't run around your ship eating all the crops you harvest.
Originally, the reason I loved the pet food bowl and pet house was because it made your pet happy, as your pet had an actual happiness level effected by feeding your pet the right foods and keeping their house accessible. However, lately I've thought of how I also used the food bowl to keep my pet fat happy, so I could safely farm crops and livestock on my ship.

I'm debating between using the pet station or making a custom station that you'd make at the station, as there's going to be several different colors for the pet bowl, and the only method I know for giving it different colors is to make multiple recipes in different colors. If I get to the point where I can get the object recolored just by using the paintbrush function, the food bowl will just be directly in the pet station.

We have a pet station, do you plan on using that in the future?

Yes it was removed. It was added in the beta when pets were first introduced, as they had a hunger system and you could put food in the bowl for them to eat. For some reason the bowl was removed from the game in post-launch patch 1.2, as well as the 'starving' mechanic, though you could still feed the pets by dropping food for them.

As for where to find the bowl, I just updated the description with that information.
