Yeah, I unpack/opened everything up to have a look inside too, and getting it work go after just hostiles looks like it would be a huge pain, if it was even possible at all.

@Davion i actually spent quite a lot of time back when i first made the mod poking around in the scripts to see if i could fix that, and ended up horribly breaking things with each attempt, and at this point it's been such a long time that i hardly remember any of the starbound scripting knowledge that i had acquired, and quite frankly, i'm surprised they even still work at all. But i'm glad you're enjoying them!

The homing knives are fun, though sadly they only home in on creature (even harmless critters) rather than on hostile NPCs. :(

Also- the aforementioned straightflight in the descriptions is not working, the throwing dart item in vanilla would be a good copypaste for having the T3 throw straight

@KwispyBagel until about 5 minutes ago, they did not. they were all just as good as the best vanilla one, because i literally copy-pasted the code from that for most of them when i made this. now, however, they should do varying degrees of damage that respect their material tier, and are all slightly better than vanilla throwing knives. also, i'm surprised nobody ever pointed that out to me before.

do the different knives do different damage? i tested and they all seem to do 35 with tungesten inserts- the lowest tier ones seem like the second best because of how cheap they are- the other two doing the same thing.

what do you mean, do they come back? like, are they boomerangs? because if that's what you mean, they do not come back. aside from the homing knife, they're functionally identical to the vanilla throwing weapons you can find in chests and stuff, except they look nice and can be crafted at one of the avali workstations.

@V in theory, yes, but i would have to look at the RPG mod to actually see how he/she does it, and apply that method to these. i'll do some reseach, but i make no promises. although being an avali ninja sounds pretty fun.

These seem to not be compatible with the RPG mod of giving the bonus of a normal throwing knife / shurikan (etc) when being a ninja and I would love to use this item primarily with the damage increase bonus... Is it possible to have it compatible possibly? :o
