Huh, there seems to be a bug with this. You are able to place torches anywhere on the screen, not limited by distance or line of sight.

You'll need to make it a pull request, can't remember off the top of my head how you'd do that with a forked repo

You're right - patch files is easier. But in case you want to integrate it to the mod I thought it's easier to merge (I know I sound a bit too self-confident)... :p

Why not just make patch files?
Far simpler than managing your own repo.

So, I ended up making a fork in Github to rename the item: https://github.com/xaliber/CNAnimatedHandheldTorches

Good mod! In my opinion the name should be "Handheld Torch (1H)" and "Handheld Torch (2H)" so it looks more organized in the crafting panel. But still good.

It's possible it is overriding the recipes from this mod. It is even more possible that it's because it overrides the starting blueprints

This mod doesn't seem to work right with the survivalist mod. There's the recipes to create normal torches out of the held torches, but no recipe to make held torches out of the survival ones (assuming since they cost survival points that they're considered a 'different' torch by the recipe.)

The only problem with it though, is if you place a torch on the wall, you won't get your brighter torch back
