This mod only touches the text files for what is displayed in-game when it calls for certain messages.

Does this mod change the keyboard layout? I didn't test controls, but some of my letters were switched around like "a" "q" "z"...... I noticed this when creating a new char, editing the name. Thanks!

This project started simply as a small thing to fix the inconsistent spelling as some of the text would be written with US-English and some EN-English at the same time I wanted to correct out of place words and clear grammatical errors and then the project kinda became a sort of hobby that I sunk way more time into than I realised after I had gone through every paragraph in the game I don't claim it to be perfect but it is 100x better then would be without it.

At last the long awaited update! I am several months late because I didn't know how long it would take, but I knew I would get to you sooner or later, sweet sweet grammatically correct Starpoint Gemini. To infinity and beyond ending sentences with prepositions!

Major re-write coming soon for the DLC!
- Key changes to texts for the first release are the usual grammatical spelling mistakes or wrong use of nouns resolved.
- Consistent spelling and tone throughout most text's in the game.
- Capitalization of ship classes and object names.
- Fixed and corrected use of nouns within context and of which do not fit the context. (e.g. is & are)
- Slightly re-worded sentences to add context where there is none in some instances, mostly found in object or lore descriptive texts.

This time around you can expect slightly shorter paragraphs in the game due to changing every applicable instance "You are" with "You're"

Thank you very much for that. As I play through I keep seeing things which irritate me, either typos, wrong words, or just plain bad sentence structure. The Endpoint campaign is particularly heinous on all three.

It really makes you wonder when game devs release English-language titles with truly crap writing. I applaud you for caring enough to try and fix it.

or a line you found in this?, this is not updated for DLC yet surprised people are not complaining that they see a bunch of jargon text because loading it up with missing entries will cause that.

Slowly, would not want to hold you back from playing, dispite what some others think regarding tone, I don't actually change the personality of the text as I read it all along the way lol.

Funny you mention that a key dev did contact me about being available to proof read and if I was interested in helping with translations, however unpaid of course. I started work on this then life became busy again as it always seems to do. This thing is a daunting task won't deny that it took a week or so last time I did the entire thing, and considering there is a lot that changed I thought best to start over, however comparing the files it may faster and time saving to merge them as newer entries into the database seem to be at the bottom so should be easy merge and then continue.

How's the DLC update coming? I got the game and all DLC on sale around Christmas and was thinking of waiting until you update it before playing for the first time. :) Thank you for your hard work. This is an awesome mod, and you should get paid by the developers for doing this.

Well I got all of the DLC now with the discount that was on. So when I have a good few hours I will re-visit this and fix the mod for DLC owners as I know some of the text is 100% broken with the mod installed.

Nice job, and tedious work, I'm sure. I noticed a bunch of these errors before I found this little gem of a Mod.

In-light of the DLC's I will be going over this project when I get some more free time to fix the few non game breaking bugs with the text fonts.

Fair enough, what I write in the comments and change-logs is not always the correct way, I focus more on the games text files and what fixes are in that more than I really mind what I write non formally.

It's fine. I just think the irony is pretty rich, heheheh. I'm ready to let this go now. Bye!

Either case you are correct the dictionary says "typos" is the correct plural of the noun.
I don't really have an excuse I didn't say you were wrong or right at the time. I wrote how I type it if its correct or not I don't really care it's one of those words that nobody really pays much attention too.

I was looking through my old comments and I brought up the typo thing. In either case, I'm right. But I'm sure you're one of those people who are unable to admit mistakes, so... good luck with that.

I have yes, and thank you for the kind words, if this ever goes bad in-game let me know, as it freq needs an update fore any new lines added to these files as they are not in a database they are plain text.

Have you offered devs your work? I mean, there is such a satisfaction in reading well written texts, and even if they'll eventually modify these same texts, at least what you have already done will be set in stone.

Sorry for the lack of updates fellas I have been a bit busy with other projects and I realize if I need to update this or it will break a lot of the game for you since the updates have added a lot of new lines to the text files.

It is more than likely the updated game, they added DLC which is now going to require I update this to support it. Patience I had a computer crash the other day which is why this updating is taking awhile longer than usaul.

Crashes my game. I'm assuming it's confliciting with another mod. Load order doesn't matter. I've put this mod first and last, and it still crashes.

Notes:
Turns out the Ship labled "ERROR" in the Geminipedia is actually part of the vanilla game, not sure if a bug or not, anyhow all the files have been patched for the new game version.

I have noticed issues with ship names in the Geminipedia, will get this patched soon enough, it's just a matter of going over the new text files and fix those the same way, tedious I know. Maybe I can use file compare and merge the changes saving a ton of time

Oh-boy and the BIG update begins LOL. In theory, this should still work just fine, as they just relocated some text from one file to another file. Which this mod overrides both. So it should continue to work as normal until I re-do desciptions.txt and logs.txt, but do let me know if this is not the case.

I was to make an example of typo's I would probably write something like this -

" Corrected two typo's in dialogs.txt to do with comms chatter with Cmdr Hills. " or " Corrected a typo in dialogs.txt during a conversion with Cmdr Hills ("do" should be "does"). "

If there are a lot of issues I usually write -

" Corrected multiple grammatical issues in the sentence structure during Hail conversations. "

No offence taken, to be honest nobody really speaks proper grammatical sentences in real life if we did conversions would be longer and tedious. Sometimes we just have to get the "gist" across in a short amount of time. That is why abbreviated terms and the Urban Dictionaries exist.

Typo isn't a proper word, but is still commonly used as an abbreviation for "typographical error". An example is if I try to pluralize "you"; I would say, "There are multiple you's in the same room." Maybe idk what I'm talking about since I didn't exactly research this, but hopefully it provides some clarity.

No offense, but how come you write "typo's"? This means "typo is". I'm pretty sure it should be "typos". One typo, two typos.
