Ok do you like this idea? I think it might be a little OP...let's balance that a little...
To make the catapult varient (the Catapult Superbomb):
3x Small Projectile
10x Metal Parts
50x Bronze Ingot
1x Mortar Impact Bomb (from your Bombard Mortar mod)
To make the mortar varient (the Heavy Mortar Projectile):
3x Catapult Superbomb
10x Steel Ingot
50x Small Projectile
1x Gold Ingot (from your Trading Post mod)
Possibly make this part of a mod that requires the bombard mortar mod and name it something like "Mortar Shenanigans"
In creative you should also see them in the blocks list. Are you certain you added the mod to your world? :D
As a proof-of-concept I tweaked a local copy by appending explosive damage info to the cubeblock subtypes and ran it in conjunction with my Materials & Gunpowder mod, and the projectiles behaved as expected. Extra holes in things.
also some bigger catapult heads for bigger projectiles
or maybe cheese.
