As far as them not ending up in your inventory, that's a bit surprising. As long as you have them in the gear list, they should work, since it doesn't have any other dependant lists like the units/vehicles do.
I've hit a bit of a snag in my latest update trying to get CBA functionality into the gear menu (CUP weapon accessories, etc), but as soon as I get it figured out, I'm ready to release. So look for it real soon.
As far as the LAW, same situation. 'cept you should be able to fit plenty of ammo in a large pack for it.
There will be an additional RHS version down the line, so stay tuned for that.
Though for Zargabad and Shapur, you should be fine, since the maps are so small. Even in Zarga, it's hard not to finish all in one session.
One option to slow things down is to spread your legs in Takistan.
You could also either just use less AI (My personal preference is 1/4 in parameters), or you could also increase the difficulty of the resistance occupation (Also in mission parameters).
