Just to be clear you did get the sword first right?
The Scanning quest comes after the sword.

OpenStarbound is an open-source fork of Starbound (still need main-game for an important file) that allows for smoother gameplay due to how much more optimized the code is and new modding options. Should at least try it out once to see how it feels.

No idea wht open starbound is, but if you want to make things easy for yourself.

Just have this mod only installed. do the requirements and the ninstall other mods.
That way you don't need to worry about any issues.

But I didn't received any quest related to the scanning. And I scanned everything I could. I even deleted the player and universe folder, to be sure the installation is fresh.

BTW I'm playing with OpenStarbound, in case it can make a difference.

So, in order to enable the Peacekeepers Bounties I need to go through the Main Story, right? Because I finished the Baron quests, got the sword, unlocked the scan mode and scanned the whole outpost, got a Mech and I still can't interact with the poster whatsoever.

Alright. To be fair, the part before it said how scanning and protectorate sword were unlocked immediately from Baron. So that could be taken the wrong way xP

I think you should read the description again on when scanning unlocks

Can you make a compatibility patch or update for Anom's Outpost Overhaul? I only get the warp for The Ark Ruins in that, unable to head to the Outpost directly. Also, idk of "Unlocks Scanning" actually works since I still start the game with the inspect and not the scan mode. I bring this up as I am making a modpack/collection which plans to include this mod, and noticed those issues upon testing.

It doesn't beat the game for you, it just makes it optional.
It unlocks all the features in the - main area.

this didnt change anything about the game. i still have the starter ship still have all the storyline it seems to just semi work from what i can tell but it might just also be that im used to having some things done already since i have beaten the game a lot

story blows way to long just to move your ship boring...

I had to regenerate my universe while installing new mods so I used this to fix my outpost. The ruin door isn't open. Is there any way to do that manually?

@Hubnester, can you please remake the FU BYOS optional story patch? i want the game to be more of a sandbox, but i still like the things FU and BYOS adds.

if you have FU then this mod is likely not full compatible

Techstation?

Only incompatible mods would be those that modify the techstation.
If you make a new character, vanillia with this mod then simply fix your ship.
It will set your universe as end game for all characters.

Because all charaacters share the same universe

Is the Frackin' Universe compatible? The patch is no longer available and I had the original patch downloaded from ages ago, installed that one and it causes a crash. Trying to get into Starbound again and skipping the story is almost essential for me lol

I Did comment it no longer worked but i take it back, after the third try it did! Not sure why it took so long but. Im okay with it.

YMMV on the compatibility of this and Frackin' Universe. I had one character (XI) who could get the upgraded ship and others (apex, avian) who could not.

i wish the devs werent dumb enough to turn a sandbox exploration survival game into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ story game. sry im just mad.

I feel like just throwing this out here but this kid works fine with FU I've used them side by side for years without issue

That mod work strage with FU, his unlock all outpost function, mech quest avaible, teleport on outpost to. After rebooting ship functionaled to + Ancient vault quest. That working with FU idk why taht still in description of mod.

Optional Story really isn't about removing existing story, but simply making it optional.

No - that would require a lot of editing, which can cause a lot of unncessary conflicts.

Is there a way to disable tracking of the main quest? I literally just don't want to do it. Like, at all. I don't even want to do the Lethia quest. I just want pure open sandbox.
