I just use the 'Stop that dam flicker!' mod with 'FPS friendly ancient portal'
But this is really clever.

for some odd reason the portal still lags for me, even with this mod. maybe another mod fiddles with it? no idea.

Idk if only this mod is causing problems for me. But I have alot of mods in my starbound. and when I unsubscribed it stopped breaking... so this mod might have a bug. Idk but it might just it being interfering with some of the mods.

animated objects as well as NPCs lag everyone's game. Maybe you should take the time to make certain objects still images to reduce lag?

The highlight is what causes the most lag, if there is a way to stop that from happening there would be significantly better frames. I usually just keep my cursor below the gate, so it doesn't highlight anything; as long as you stand directly in front of Esther, you can still talk to her that way.

this mod does freeze the gate but for some odd reson the lag is still exactly the same :/

Well, without this mod "The Destroyer" is more like "The Destroyer of Frames"

I always found it funny that mods like Additional weather, that adds a type of weather that looks like a light show, could cause no lag but a single gate could lag my pc so much. I mean, they fixed the screen-tearing issue that murdered me, but the gate? come on.

@Soulcast i would like that too, maybe add a feature where you can toggle the gate from being able to go thru it or not? Also i have a request: can you make the portal close when you make a new character? Thank you!

Yeah, this thing still causes tons of lag if you mouse over it. Could something be done about that? Because it seems strange that something that's essentially just a fancy one-way, one-destination teleporter is so laggy.

You probably have a bad computer. Starbound is horribly optimised and even a simple particle effect lowers the fps.

I wish somone would make a mod to tone down these effects Hint. Hint

honestly, any structure lags me an absurd amount, including the little building underground and anywhere with npc's

I'll look into removing the fog and possibly the snow/wind particles.
It'll definitely be harder to make than this mod though.

i like this mod peacuse my fps is 23-30 at the portal... with this mod my fps is 45-57
