I agree with Fuyuno. It would be much better if ham was obtainable, but did NOT replace steak.

@Raphael Because one ham hock, like what the icon shows us the ham item is, is bigger than any such critter's entire body? Hell, it's bigger than a good two or three of any such critter...

why not add it to critter drops (rabbits any critter that is on lush/forest planets but only dropped by hunting weapons ex:bow

can you make it not replace alien meat drops? xD just. add it to the pool or something...
