It seems it will part of the missile rework getting added to dev test this month and the stable/normal version whenever that happens.
I would realy like for this to be added to base game. I would not tell mod author what to do with his own work, but if he don't want to keep this updated why not "gave" it to Game Dev in exchange for free game code or credits or both? How it is...we can't use it either way and it would be even worse for this work to just 'die' altogether.
Kind Regards.

Some guy has reposted your mod on the workshop.

Have downloaded this mod, works perfectly and let me say it's amazing. The animation is smooth, the design is distinct and eye catching without being obnoxious and the best part is it comes with its own sound. Now I get excited whenever I hear the mechanical "ZZZZZZZT" that lets me know the hatches are opening and I'm about to rain pain on my enemy. I didn't know I needed this mod until I tried it and now Ill never not use it.
Only improvement I could offer is perhaps a more distinct difference between the high and flat hatch variants but that's so minimal a critique it shouldn't even influence your decision to download.
10/10: should have been part of the vanilla game.

i just wont let me place the blocks
Try deleting all mods, reload the game and redownload the mod.
I've had this problem myself when updating mods, and deleting and redownloading seems to work most of the time.
Food for thought.
was only mod installed.
I had no idea the other mod was still being loaded, I had unsubscribed from it and went to the game's mod section and clicked delete from disk for cataclsym, thought that would do it
Glad you got it to work. I guess you installed aftercataclysm through steam workshop. The handling of the mods can be a bit wonky >_<
Didnt know there was a mod folder in my documents, it is working now
