@moodic, as well, i beg you to organize your files, like textures, models, etc. Mine are all over the place and it was hard to pakrat the games files to upload. without deleting my whole HL2, Gmod, HL:S, L4D2 and CSGO folders im screwed

@moodic, dont worry about it. Im happy to help anyone who is wanting to make maps for Source.

Talking about it makes me want to get back into converting more over. Think Moon. already did most HL:S maps into Gmod. Seen they've been porting Black Mesa maps too so looks like I'll need something else to make

@moodic, i havent done it in a while, but i used to decompile other peoples maps to see how they made them. Since this map uses only HL2 and HL:S textures and models, you should be able to decompile it with like bspsrc and see everything.

@moodic, By tweaking I meant editing the light source to fit where it was originally. Meaning I would have to see where the original map had a light, and remake it in Hammer. Its time consuming, yes, but worth it if you want the map to look good

@moodic, If i remember correctly, the lighting was messed up for me as well. (Besides the env_light) Its been a while since I've done any work on these maps but if I remember correctly I had to tweak every light source. Certain maps it wasnt hard since there isnt alot to tweak.

Quick map question. whenever I de-compile a valve official source map, all the lighting is almost completely broken. Any way I could possibly fix this? I've looked almost everywhere.

@SCP-035 , I could just use teleport triggers. thats the same way the original game did it (though, they were changelevel triggers). I will look into it after this next project.

Im trying to do "Questionable Ethics", it has some quirks due to it being like 3 levels all technically in the same set of hallways so lots of parts overlap and i have to get everything to line up and be correct textures. I dont have an ETA on when id be done with it

Edit to my last comment--

Blast Pit would be too complex, not to mention the area with the arms or tentacles are 2 different levels and both are not the same size, and i cant shove a bigger map into a small one and call it a day. the size difference is just too big and i cant work some "creative manipulation" on it, or id just end up ruining the map. I might look into one of the other areas of the HL1 campaign

@spadinner of the century, to make an entire map with every chapter while possible, it is not very wise to do such a thing. It would be too big, and to merge every chapter together would be torture

@Swagmag8, I don't know. It may, unless gearbox has different textures than the Source version.
