What you're asking is beyond the scope of this mod. There are numerous tool and mining mods on the workshop. Best of luck.

You'll find there's nothing to "update". You'll have to create new individual patch files that work with each modded item.

May I possibly make an update for this mod including modded item support for my own personal use?

Correct. This won't work with modded items.

Apparently this doesn't work with a few pickaxes, idk what mod its from, but its the durasteel diamond pickaxe, and the stone pickaxe. iirc its from small improvements (the 1.4 version?)

Assuming that mod adds a new item, it should be fully compatible. This mod will not alter any stats of that mod's item, so as long as the author did not alter any vanilla files it should work perfectly fine.
