This is an absolute must for me and it works well with frackin universe.

Sliders in the menu would require some scripting but I would think that can be modded. Hope you figure this out okay!

In the future i many look at how to change text colour and text back ground colour to make new mode so dyslexics that have colour issues as well can see easier , using some sort of slider ect in the menu.

extract the mod and change the value, its not hard to do. Give it a shot! There's a guide to explain how to unpack the mod from a workshop. If I were to do this I would have to do that as I don't have the original fines anymore. But seriously, its not to hard. Just 1 value needs changing, repack and shove it back where it was! You have my word that I'll not update this ever again and ruin your changes.

launch the exe directly so it runs oustdie of steam and mods, if you feel up to it. Wont load any steam assets so you can see how it originally looks. Fairly certain I changed that color too. I know I made the number of chat messages it saves a stupidly large number. Prob changed that color too if it was originally a gray.

Ya this makes a black backgrund. Normally its a dark slate gray-ish. All you need to do is slow down and read what I wrote carefully.

Does this affect the color of the message log, too? I just noticed that I subscribed to two mods that do seemingly the exact same thing, with the only difference being that this one offers slightly longer lingering chat bubbles while the other recolors the message log to make it easier to read.

Wow sorry about that. I cleaned the files and forgot to amend them to .patch extensions. Uploaded the correct fix and things will work as advertised. Sorry for the issue and thanks to Bernkastel for posting about it.

Please keep chat civil everyone. Yes Scoopy's work lead me to be able to do this mod but I also added more to it. I'm super thankful for soopytwist and acknowledge their work did help me make this possible. This was my first mod EVER and could never have figured out how to do this! Others helped me too to actually get assets unpacked, to learn how to edit the chat files and so on. Takes a village to teach someone something new and difficult!

@soopytwist really, You think this is just a copy of your mod. please... sure it has a single simillar feature but this also adds changes to global chat, sail chat, the backdrop of the bubbles,scanning bubbles, and a version with a larger font. all your mod does is make them last longer. If you look on the workshop theres plenty of mods that have similar features but you dont see there mod creators posting on them saying "Boohoo you're copying me!"

I tried it and it seemed fine for my game. Spammed about 300 adga type messages then went for a hoverbike ride. I saw no issues.

Have to agree with TeknoRapture though, 999,999,999 for chat history seems excessive... has anyone noticed lag once messages exceed the original limit?

can i make a request? My biggest text annoyance has been not being able to read item details when hovering unless i drag up the whole item menu then hover. the text hover menu will not correct its position if its to low and you cant read important details like food rot and item damage

Oh and that bug wouldn't show up untill you get "a million something" texts so that would REALLY suck lol

I'd be carefull how high you set the number of chat messages, it may not seem like it on the modding end but in the engine different types of variables actually have limits for example an Int is pretty tiny (relatively) and when it hits that limit it rolls over to negative numbers and that could crash the game and because that would be the message index, that could make the game save unloadable, IF they used the smaller variable types and didn't do proper error checking...

i don't suppose you can separate the backdrop colour from this mod, as an addon/another mod, could you? xD i kinda like the dark slate theme...

I love small bolded cartoony fonts aesthetically, but reading them is a whole nother story.
