What i meant to say is: There should be one or more mods already. In fact, Biologically Correct Torsos by charity236 does exactly that, adds tail feathers and changes the avian chest.
I'll check later if there is a similar or revival mod of BCT on the workshop (like i said, i believe there is one already), if not i'll upload one later.
I remember seeing once a (very old) mod of Tail Feathers + Biologically Correct Torsos.
Apologies for taking so long, some IRL shenanigans came up in the weekend and it was harder to edit the Female Sprites than i expected due to mismatching tail heights.

Take all the time you need.
Well you see, *body* character sprites (head sprites are entirely another thing) are divided in 4 files, frontal arm, back arm, female and male body, so, legs sprites are fused into the body sprites, which means i have to manually edit both female and male files, that isn't a problem at all however i've been a bit busy lately. :P
Sure i'll do it, i'll try to have it before the weekend but it ultimately depends on how much spare time i have and if i'm at home/carrying my laptop with me.
I am asking this because the modified feets don't look all that good, being a bit pixelated (There are not enought pixels on the model to begin with, so it suffer a bit from the added details) can you add this version please ?
Yes it is completely client-side, thus 100% multiplayer safe.
Yep, you don't need a new character, and you can uninstall this mod whenever you would like, without any problems.
So, yeah, you should have no troubles at all! But let me know fi you run into any issues.
They only should be noticeable if you pay too much attention to them.
The issues should be just graphical... for example, if you make a Female Apex wear an Avian Commoner Shirt, because that vanity clothing was modified to fit the "Biological Correct Torsos" changes tha this mod includes, it will look like the Shirt melted into the skin of the Apex or like it's ultra-tight.
On the other hand, some new (or not new) unedited armor/clothing that a Female Avian is wearing, might make her look a little Androgynous (might make her look like a male).
Most issues are female-related as the are changed more than the males due to the removal of their Chest/Breast.
Thankfully, all Avian NPCs wear only clothing/armor that has already been edited to fit the Biologically Correct Torsos look, and most armor/clothing the player can wear don't really remark female breast/chest that much.
After 1.0 some changes were made to how mods work, Steam Workshop mods are located in "steamapps/workshop/content/211828" and then the mods ID folders are show (just random assigned numbers), "Better Avians (unofficial)" ID should be "731071519"
Mods installed manually in "Starbound/mods" still work, but ".modpak" mods aren't recognized anymore (only .pak mods or unpacked/loose mod folders in "Starbound/mods" work!)
