Those backgrounds mostly make sense. I'd make the Novakid's more... trainlike.

Also, in the images you have, showing the different backgrounds... "Windteller Cloaca"? Is that a Beta name?

Please change avian ship blocks to avian tech blocks. They suits their ships much better.

@Xederek It won't work if you allready have the last ship upgrade, but if you don't, you might want to remove any wall you want to keep before upgrading.

I'm tempted to try this mod, but I honestly really dislike the Nova background choice quite a bit. The human background choice is also a bit off, IMO. Cool idea, though!

Totally agree with Nixeras, humans background with the mod is kind of weird. Except of that, the mod is a really good looking add to the game.

Could I recommend maybe using outpost stuff for the human backgrounds instead? Most of the folks you find at the outpost sites on cold planets are human, if not all as far as I can tell.

I feel like humans should have the darker grittier metal blocks for the background instead of the apex Domicile ones .-.

There's a problem with this mod: if a custom ship is installed that overwrites a default ship, this mod will take priority over that custom ship's placed tiles. Essentially, you end up with rather bare Serenity or Uros IV ships.

Suggestion: place a warning in the description warning that it is not compatible with any ship mods that overwrite vanilla ship layouts.
