Thanks for the mod. I can confirm it works with LWOTC.
Installing it during a tactical mission caused the previous orange blood pools to disappear (or maybe that was just because I loaded the game), but that's about it. It's very compatible.

Does this change only the blood? after installing this and playing some time it completly broke the spawnpoints, judging by the comments i might have too many mods, but none of them has an override.

Haha, a fair question. So I'm doing a Clone Wars playthrough where I've replaced my regular soldiers with clone troopers and Jedi. All the blood effects don't quite fit with the Star Wars vibe that I'm personally hoping to achieve in terms of the art direction and style. Plus if removing some particle effects helps my FPS by a fraction of a percent, I'll take it! :-)

I'm a novice modder (I just made my first custom voice pack), but even after lots of Googling and reading, I was stumped as to how I'd remove/change existing art assets like the blood decals. I managed to eliminate the blood pools through a custom override to the XComDeathHandler class, but I could not figure out how to do the same to say the DamageTypeHitEffectContainer class. Poking around in your mod files, it looks like you took a different approach, but I'm too much of a novice to know how to tackle it. It *seems* like it'd be easy haha, but in practice, I'm finding it tricky to do. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion, I updated the name! And just to clarify what decals are, they are basically textures the game can dynamically “stick” to things such as bullet holes, explosion scorches, blood, flamethrower scorches, puddles, signs and other such content, I actually can answer most graphical X2 related questions if you want any insight!

Aye aye no worries is fine, no import is needed because as said is working fine with WotC. ^.^

The intention of my comment here is to share the confirmation that the mod works fine with WotC for other players who want to try it and have the doubt. Since the name of the mod is "Human Blood for Advent Updated" may cause doubts or confusion if the mod is for XCOM2 or WOTC, it would be good perhaps, just as an idea, to change the name to something like: "Human Blood for Advent [WOTC]"

I pointed out the decals settings due it is not the first time I read in many forum topics to other players asking for help because the bloodpools disappeared in their game, some people who do not know what decals exactly means or what exactly the game is handling as decals, or what setting is turning on/off the bloodpools. Btw, Thank you for share the mod. =)

well of course, all bloodpools in Xcom 2 are, are decals! I am happy to hear it works,I don't really intend to port this as I don't have much interest in mods of this type anymore

It works with WOTC. Be sure you have *Decals* setting to max, which means: static decals and dynamic decals, full decals enabled.

@prophyz I used this mod for several campaigns without issue. It only seems to affect the new story single DLC missions for some reason. :steamsad:

just ended a campaign with 125 mods, including this one.
Works as intended for me, I used a clean config and the mod launcher.

What ever these comments are, I don't understand them at all. Mabey I just got lucky, doubt it.

@Vortex, hmm, very strange. This was the only mod I had active when this happened, tried it twice. When I removed the mod the alien turns continued as normal.

Thanks Vortex. I also just tried tis mod with the new missions from the latest free DLC and when I have it active, after killing an alien, when it's their turn...well it they never end their turn and the game just waits for something to happen.

Unfortunately, it doesnt work for War of the Chosen but I'd be delighted if you could make that work.
Since there was a big update for WotC with new gamemode and missions, I thought it might be an incentive to look into it at some point, maybe not tooooo far in the future :)

It is called upon in the archetype for the unit, then with in that a death handler archetype is called, within that controls the blood FX, Particles and decals and such
