No reason not to. :) And the loadout sounds good. The aircraft was used in the ground attack role, but that wasn't its primary purpose. The Soviets used it as a fighter, and at low altitudes it performed well. It might be best to say that its role was ground support; taking out the enemy aircraft helps the troops just as much as strafing runs over fortified positions.

Ah, I see. I stand corrected.

But still, because of that, I chose to fit the AC/40 in the right hand slot. Left is the standard Vulcan. Probably should use Turbos there.

Bottom slot is Meteors, because why not?

It was actually a high end anti-aircraft gun. The P-38 and the P-39 were designed concurrently with the objective of producing a high caliber main cannon to take down enemy bombers. The P-38 became the favorite for the interceptor and fighter role in the US, but the Soviets loved it for its firepower against German fighters.

But yes, 37 millimeters was the main gun. On a few models, they went back to the Hispano 20mm cannon, but it performed unsatisfactorily.

The "main gun" on this aircraft was originally a 37mm cannon if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, you heard me, thirty-seven millimeters . Basically a low-end anti-tank gun.
