I spent a lot of time getting the corrected logos made using the same amount of dirt and so on as the originals. I'm sure there's stuff that can be salvaged by copying over the required new data files from the originals, but I just don't have time anymore.

What a bummer that they changed so much. I just started playing again this was one of my favorite mods, nothing else even comes close.

It will do nothing at the moment. No pink rectangles (that would be for mods that have their own 3D models). Because mods now need to have the OBJ files loaded with any changed texture (even though the game already has them), the game simply will ignore the mod's textures. As most of the big signs seen in the world have been changed away from obvious parodies in the vanilla game anyway, there's not much to salvage from this -- the only things that could be salvaged here are the little local business signs in specific towns, e.g. the logo of the maritime museum, the marquee on a movie theater, etc. As of yet I haven't gone through to compare each file in the game and all the DLC to find and add the appropriate files to do any of that, so for now just keep this mod disabled until (if) I get around to spending a couple days seeing what can be salvaged. Unlikely as I have not played for years and sitting at the PC for any length of time is painful.

Most likely you will have bright pink rectangles where the ads should be.

I'm completely new to ATS, PC Gaming and mods. From reading the most recent comments I'm confused. If I install this mod now will it work? Crash the game? Do nothing or what? Sorry I'll admit I'm a complete noob lol.

This mod does nothing at the moment as the handling of textures (and the design of the original existing textures) has changed considerably. But it never did that, because two reasons: The Walbert sign designs were more a parody of Target than of Walmart, but also because the most of the signs were 3D objects and not textures.

It does not. I'd have to re-inspect every texture in the game again to compare and add in what still applies. Most of the billboards and storefronts that were obvious parodies when ATS first came out no longer are parodies, so those would get removed. All that might remain are local businesses unique to each town. It would be a colossal undertaking and I just don't have time these days to do that. Never say never, but for now, this mod is obsolete and not functional.

Geez, they've even changed a lot of the things that were parodies into something totally original, defeating the entire purpose of the mod. I can't find where the UPS/FedEx box trucks are anymore, and so on. This may not be salvageable. Too much effort for something I haven't played in forever (though wouldn't mind getting back into someday now that I'm mostly recovered from back surgery and may be able to sit at the computer for more than 30 minutes at a time again).

I basically would have to go through all the textures they have again to find parodies. I don't have Photoshop access anymore so wouldn't be able to do much in the way of editing -- only find if anything matches what I had made before. I doubt I'll ever get around to that.

They've also replaced a lot texture signs with baked-in text, so those can't be fixed.

Oh, looks like just including the DDS files isn't enough anymore. How silly. I'll have to extract all the original files again and drop in the TOBJ files that are already in the game. And try to remember how this all works as I haven't played ATS in years.

Nevermind, I found the cause of your mod broke by the 1.50 update. I had to add the .tobj file for each .dds file in your mod.

It's just textures so it isn't going to cause any problems. If another mod changes the same texture, then whichever mod is higher is the one whose texture will be used.

You can still use it; it just only has textures for places in the first few states, up to Oregon.

@Keeper1st ohh okay, I haven't actually used this mod I just subscribed to it off of my phone, I haven't been able to play the game so yeah... once I get back on I'll check it out!

Oh, I haven't worked on this in years... but what is there, in California, Nevada, Arizona and parts of Oregon, continues to work. Being only textures it'll never break anything. If someday I get back into playing the game a lot, maybe I'll poke around and do more things.

Sure. There may be some overlap, so depending on which mod is higher in priority you'll get different results. As this mod specifically only replaces parodies in the game with the real equivalents, rather than doing anything arbitrary, I'd recommend having it higher in priority.

Does this mod work with "Real companies (gas stations*) & billborads" by MLH82?

For things like the "Chemron" word on the awning, it would require an entirely different 3D model as those letters are part of the model -- not a simple texture.

Why do some of these names not work?
Is there any way to make some gas station names?

I haven't been playing the game often so haven't been making new textures, but they do still work.
