Thanks everyone that offered feedback. Some of it was really good, but I didn't have the opportunity to implement all of it. Hope you enjoyed using it as much as I did.
Maybe reduce the close range accuracy boost, give it Psi damage (in doing so letting it ignore cover), have it roll a small random chance of inflicting a Psi effect (not including mind control of course), or just have the weapon have a stat increase that compounds with a Psi amp.
Any one of those would be a really neat addition, and something that would make it viable and not outshined by a modded Plasma rifle!
Great mod, will keep my eye on it to see if you do any further work to it. Thanks again!
Sure, it ignores one point of armor and doesn't require reloading... but personally i'm more concerned about actually hitting the enemy, and not about that single extra damage i could have done if it ignored 1 armor. Which apperently is usless again compared to a plasma rifle as it does 1 point less damage. (Or is the description wrong? In-game it tells me it does 1 point less max-damage. 7-8 instead of 7-9)
Also, during the 2 playthroughs i did with this mod enabled, i only ever used it in the 2 final missions. People already mentioned this, but it would be great if it was available a bit earlier so it can actually be used more.

If you have already, then just ignore my post :)
No dice it completely ignored the change.
zender - Yeah. I'll be moving it to post-gatekeeper with a future update. It's set in the .uc files, which should be in the classes folder. I'm not sure you have access. I think the mods are compiled when you download, so not sure if the classes folder and the .uc files are preserved (haven't really played around with compiled mods at all).
that's late late game lol. This kind of weapon is sort of what i expected from the beam rifle's, which bore me big time. One or two on the squad is fine, so i wound up editing the ini's of the mag rifle's to match their damage.
Balancing the game is one thing. But only so long as you get cool stuff throughout the playthrough. there aren't that many missions you can enjoy it as it stands unless you prolongue the game =p
Cool that we can use it though, im gunna be checking the ini to see if i can get earlier access to it. since im already rolling beam rifle's.
I'll get around to it eventually, but this is mostly just something I do to relax after work (I relax after a long day of coding by coming home and writing more code... because I'm crazy). So I don't put a lot of pressure on myself with these except for fixing bugs. .
wreck- There should be a /config folder in the mod folder. There are a couple of inis in there, and they should be commented enough to make sense.
