Love this mod the way it is, could you make a mod to cut the burst TU cost for ARs& MGs to 40\AR & 50\MG or something like that? This mod make them less effective when it comes to burst. And I also always hated how they did the MGs, only getting one shot per turn, if I don't move why I can't get two shots off.
If you don't want to, can you tell me where I can learn how to find all the stat. I tried to mod the stats my self once just for fun. But I missed something somewhere, & it ended poorly, vary poorly.

I would just ensure that this mod is 1st in load order, and start a new game to test. I had exact same problem.

Yeah, you are gonna have to restart game. If you just got to lasers, its not that far into it, so not huge deal, but its worth it to go back if you like the smgs. I liked it i quite a bit.

I had since the beggining of the game, I was using the ballistic ones since mission 1. Is there a way to remove the tech requirement? Maybe it was a conlfict with something that I failed to catch running community edition.

FriendlyPsicopath: Check the previous comments :) I believe you'll find your answer(s) there. In short, you'll have to have this mod active at the actual time you research Laser Weaponry, Plasma Weaponry and MAG Weaponry, in order to unlock them.

Glad you got it working, buddy :) Oh, and yeah, the Flamethrower mod requires you to have it installed and active while you complete the "Heavy Plasmas" research, in order to be able to manufacture the Plasma Torch. The basic Flamethrower is always available, however, since it requires no research to unlock.

Yeah i noticed that before i decided to restart my game, I had missing textures and shit, game crashed a few times. I am thinking at this point it was a bunk install of one of the mods, or just Xenonauts being a butthole.

But I can confirm that it is now working in a new game. I saw the SMGs in the laser weapons and I smiled :)

So all is good, and I'm getting back to where i was.

Also, I am running community edition. Once I saw it I immediately got it, which was before i started modding anyway.

Does the flamethrower mod require a new game? sounds like a good idea. I always thought there weren't enough weapon varieties in the game. Glad to see others feel the same way.

Oh, you're one of the few that managed to grab my Shotgun mod before I had it removed? xD I didn't quite like it myself, so I removed it while starting work on this mod :)

You shouldn't be getting any conflicts with other mods if this one is prio 1 (at top), but who knows :S This game isn't always very stable, and what works one day doesn't the next. Random crashes, and what not :) Sometimes I've had weird issues no matter what I did, and I could not find the cause no matter what. An uninstall and re-install of the game has somehow helped me in this situations. Also, if you're not already doing so; try using the Community Edition (right-click Xenonauts in Steam Library, click Properties, go to the Betas tab, select community, then let the game update itself) and see if it makes things better for you.

I hadn't started the game before the mod was installed, so yes i did complete research while mod was on. I started a new game now, cus i really like the ballistic smg, and wanted to get the other ones. I uninstalled some other mods that could have potentially conflicted, and reinstalled your mod, then started a new game. I don't know yet whether or not this will work, but I am hoping so. The ballistic smg was fantastic, and I really like your other mods (pistol and stun gun).

The mods i had installed that I removed were Don't forget to bring a shotgun and the 93 Raffica. I got your shotty mod and your pistol mod, cus its essentially the same thing.

Thanks for the reply, and I'll let you know when i found out its working. I like your work brotato chip.

Did you complete research for those weapon while you had the mod installed, or did you install the mod after having researched them?

I don't seem to have the higher level guns. I have unlocked up to mags and I still have vanilla weapon classes only. As in anything above ballistic tier i dont have smg for. Your mod is 1st in load order, any ideas?

The machine guns and shotguns/carbines are still the best for suppressing, yup. The flamethrowers are even better, though, but that's another mod :3

SMGs and MPs don't need high suppression in my opinion. Thematically it should be the machine guns, snipers and rifles in burst mode that supress the best.

Actually. The suppression increase for the MPs was premature. I'm reverting it back to the previous one.

Right, but it was the Ballistic Machine Pistol you mentioned, hence I replied regarding the Ballistic Machine Pistol :) Yeah, maybe the SMGs do need a bit higher suppression. I'll have a look.

lol, i havent used the uzi that much, but i have a soldier who is using the mp5, and he isnt getting ANY suppression either

Maybe you're using it wrong :) It's a side-arm, and it's already stronger than the regular pistols (albeit lower accuracy, which can be overcome by going closer to the enemy) and has 50% higher suppression than the regular pistols.

awesome mod, i have lost two soldiers using the Uzi in a new savegame, it needs a buff, more suppresion.

The rage subsided, I reinstalled it and after some load order tweaking I got it all to work. I'm about 10 missions in now and with very little save scumming I'm yet to lose a guy.

Ah, yes, I've had that happened a couple of times myself, too. Definitely a hassle. If you decide to re-install the game, I sincerely hope it works out for you this time around :)

Doesn't matter. The community edition mod manager just completely shat itself again and uninstalled all of my mods. This game is more effort that it's worth sometimes...

Not that I'm aware of :( Maybe if you got a hold of a save game editor, I suppose, but I dunno if any exist. I haven't looked for one before :/

Hmm. Perhaps you're also using another mod that modifies researches? If that mod has higher priority in your mod list (via the launcher), it might definitely surpress this mod. Try giving this mod a higher, or even highest, priority. You might have to re-research Laser Weaponry again if this is what's causing this problem you're experiencing.

None of the alien tech based SMGs are showing up for me? I have the ballistic ones but I've just researched lasers and they're not there?

Krylo: I hope you'll enjoy them :) The Ballistic SMG+MP are always available, in any game, but the rest of the weapons are only available if you complete the required research while the mod is active.

I'm sorry Mikiztli for not coming back to this - For whatever reason it seems to be working now. I have a feeling I may have accidentally tried to transfer the SMG by clicking on the wrong slider. Would be typically me. Either way, I'm sorry to have taken up your time for such a non-issue. :/

Hey Mikiztli. What happens is quite literally me trying to click the button to transfer the item, but for whatever reason, no matter how many times I click the "Increment" arrow, nothing happens. This happens every now and then on other things as well, but perhaps only once and after that it works. For your SMG, it never works. I will try to see what happens if I transfer my plasma SMG tomorrow, if it's specifically that item or items from your mod in general.

Otherwise I definitely don't mind - The SMGs are extremely awesome so far, definitely a very useful close range weapon. :)

Dub: what actually happens when you try to transfer it? Sometimes my games won't let me transfer base game items, either, because of some user interface glitches.

Unfortunately I am currently very short on time, Dub =( I have some ideas as to where and how this issue can be remedied, but it might take me some time to get to it. I'm actually kind of surprised this issue exists, but nevertheless, I shall look into it :) Hope you'll be able to enjoy it, still, in the meantime.

Hey Mikiztli. I have a problem trying to transfer my laser submachine gun to another base. For whatever reason it won't let me. Is this an oversight on your part or is it a problem with my game? I currently use:

Full Soviet Weapons Extension Pack (Slightly modified by myself, adjusting values, descriptions and whatnot)

Also I may or may not have committed the crime of not starting a fresh playthrough after loading your mod, I cannot remember. I also do not know whether other submachine guns act the same, or whether laser machine pistols do as well as I do not find them necessary.

Hope this can be solved somehow.
