Lol, in the four years since I uploaded this, you're the first to notice that. I must have forgotten to update the description text after balancing it a bit. The accuracy stat that was listed is also wrong. The correct stats are 45% time units and 25 accuracy.

Why does the information say this uses 32% of TU to fire but in-game, it uses closer to 46%?

Making it one handed is comparatively easy, requiring only two changes. Find the folder 'MP5K' in the assets\mods folder of you Xenonauts install.

1. Open 'weapons.xml' in Notepad++, and edit line 126 changing the value from '1' to '0'. (the line looks like this unmodified: <Cell ss:StyleID="s66"><Data ss:Type="Boolean">0</Data>)

2. Open 'weapons_gc.xml' in Notepad++ and on line 5 change hands="1" to hands="0".

The MP5K will now function as a one-handed weapon. It will still look like you're holding an smg, but fixing the sprites is a lot more work unfortunately.

so how do i make this one handed? kinda bummed out its a 2 handed, already got the German weapon pack so have a mp5 thats two handed :) i really like the mod, good job :D

CE also has SHITLOADS of mods on the offical website.

As far as I know, it replaces vanilla. However you can revert back to vanilla really easily. Also, CE is mostly bug fixes, kinda like the Unoffical Patches for Skyrim. It also includes optional fixes which you can choose whether or not to enable, and obviously, compatibility with the majority of mods.

Personally I can't see a reason to not use the CE version of the game, but that's just me. :)

Is it a seprate game or does it replace vanilla?

CE is significantly easier to mod for, hence why many mods are designed for it. (And in my case, it's the only version I know how to mod for >.> )

I know this might sound weird, but I just want to thank you for making this mod. I used it as a template to make my own ump-45 with it's own damage and accuracy. I still need to make a bordeless texture (somehow), but I was able to completely overhaul the mod file that you had for this gun. Thanks

You should look at weapons from the first black ops to get an idea for weapons.

Yeah, the timeline is why I went with the MP5K. I mean, sure, the timeline is still a bit off, but not by much.

I would like to see a MP5 added with more damage than the MP5K and that can fire in Semi-auto and burst. The MP5 was created in 1966

Yeah it does look like the laser carbine sprite, but it would not be accurate as the P90 was created in 1986 and the game starts in 1971

Ah damn it kind of breaks the immersion but what can you do? It's not like you're ebing paid so one shouldn't expect you to put that much effort into it. Still would be nice though.

Unfortunately, modifying the animations for the in-combat xenonauts is REALLY difficult (like, involves editing about 200 stills) so probably not. I used the laser carbine because it was the closest thing I could find :\

Yeah that was the problem, I wasn't using CE but now I am and i've been using a bunch of mods, this one is working good so far except one of my guys using it got shot in the face. Are you going to change the image form the laser carbine to an actual MP5K?

Are you using the Community Edition of Xenonauts? If you are, check the very bottom of the list. They should show up with "Install" as the option.

Im having a problem, even though im subscribed neither this mod or your M24 are showing up in my launcher.

Also should be able to one hand it so a grenade can be held with it, hopefully everybody doesn't just give all their guys duel weilds and bum rush

Havn't used it yet but I think these are good inputs: Should do a little more damage than pistol and only fire in burst mode, have a slighly longer effective range than pistol and weigh slightly more. TU cost should be low enough that mid levels can fire two burst if they don't move more than little.
