I keep razing the northern Gaul settlements to pave a road for the Franks to colonize (I'm the Suebi in Hispania, I just want to have neighbors I can trust) but they keep sitting in the Netherlands without daring to cross and colonize them, which lets the Gaul Roman faction crop up again and resettle the ruins, which I must raze again by next turn. Beyond being a nice way to farm xp, I'm not getting the results I expected of this mod. I also keep razing any rebel cities that pop up within the Roman Empires to let them recolonize them to no avail. How long does it usually take the AI to take action?

Hello good sir, if you're still handling this mod can you make it so that the huns wont settle? in my last playthrough they settled on a minor settlement and basically does nothing for the rest of my campaign. Thanks have a good day.

nice mod.

But vanilla there are some faction they do: played on very hard, and the WRE separatists colonised some razed colonies . later the huns free macedons and they become their ally....they walked behind the huns and colonised the fresh razed cities.some hordes did it too.

I love the idea of this mod but it basically killed my whole campaign.

AI now cares only about colonizing, so my Very Hard campaign became Very Easy. Also, all that colonizing apparently slows down the Huns so much that they never reach Italy.

I don't recommend this mod to anyone playing western Rome. Maybe it's more fun with smaller factions?

Doggo, use this mod: AI. along with this mod and maybe try using 12 year turn year since it really slows down the campaign ai to be WAY more tactical and intelligent. im not kidding im on turn 140 year 406 and its still intense as WRE

I would strongly advise anyone against downloading this mod. The author has done a good job, but it has some unintended consequences for the game. The AI focuses on colonizing provinces across the map rather than replenishing armies. defending its existing territory and putting up any kind of general challenge for the player.

At most, I would run this mod for 20 turns when the world becomes really desolate and then turn it off again.

Could you create a mod that does the opposite?
AI colonizes in a suicidal plan, leaving its cities unprotected :(

Is it possible to adjust the chances of certain factions going out and colonizing settlements over others?

It's really absurd to see Eastern factions like Arran and Xvarazm in the Scythian steppes.

@XTAKK resubscribe to the mod and then delete it from the launcher should let you remove it. I do agree that the priority is too high, it is a old mod I might look into updating it.

How do you remove the mod? I unsubbed but the mod is still active and I can't deactivate from the mod loader :(

I do enjoy the premise of the mod, but I did feel like it was a bit of an over correction. Not sure you can actually do much to determine how the AI sees its new goal of recolonizing the wastelands but the AI was suicidal in doing so in my couple campaigns. It would colonize a desolate region right in front of my army that had just done the razing the turn before.

I've noticed the AI seems to just take the settlement, make one building, then not breakdown the ruins to make more buildings. Is that unavoidable, or does it just take them forever?

still works! the ai will even colonize the snowy bearen lands :D doesnt really matter i guess. sometimes i wonder if there could be a LITE version. so that the ai will not conquer bearenland and stay near me so i can profit

What the mod does is sensible but It exaggerates. Why does a faction in the central europe bother to go to the other side of the map and colonize there! It would be better if this could be adjusted and provided to work a bit more sensibly.

In my game it has no effect. Burned places stay burned as long as i do not rebuild them. Actually the white huns burned 5 cities of sassanides and the rebuild none of them. Or did i understand this mod wrong?

I got sometimes colonisation of AI. Here, I am playing the Suebi and the 3 regions got colonised by the Angles. In the north I had colonisation too. The Geats colonised the abandoned region of the Jutes. Nevertheless the mod is a good idea. Here is a screen:

What if it's a faction that loses all of its hordes when it colonizes, will it still have a high desire to colonize a burned empty city, in a waste land?

great mod, but its pretty funny when playing the slavs to see some sassanid minor sprint up north to colonise the steppes before i can; war with the sassanid horde by turn 5, my ass isnt ready.

This mod is a must-have imho. The razing mechanic is pretty silly, at least on the scale depicted in the game. I mean, sure you can burn down a village, but the idea that a few hundred guys could realistically have gone and torched all of Greece or whatever is pretty goofy. If the map was more detailed and had many, many more minor settlements (like 8-10 per province) then maybe it'd have worked, but the way things are all of Germany ends up unpopulated by turn 60.
