@Pootis I just took a deep long look at the textures ingame and tried to recreate them. That's how I learned. I also looked at art related to TF2. As for the patterns, I only use colors from the color guide, then try to figure out what to do. As for the paint? What I do is use the TF2 paint brushes and create a new layer. Color the base of that layer black, then use greys and such to paint on it. After that, I go through the blend modes to see what one would suit that skin. You can get the TF2 Item Creation pack here.
