so we arent cut off from pazaak after we beat everyone i want more pazaak

How do I use this? I don't enjoy pazsaak but just want to win

@thomas501c3 this modifies the file pazaakdecks.2da and will be incompatible with any other mods that change that file.

If you have an incompatibility then delete the pazaakdecks.2da file from that mod and keep this one. Sidedecks is the only thing that file touches so deleting it from other mods will not break them.

The mod didn't work for me. Not sure why. Does it tend not to work if there are other mods installed? I have the Restored Content Mod from the Workshop on, and I also have the PartySwap mod from a different source.

Even with this mod the AI still pulls perfect 20's out of their ass. Pazaak truly is the most rigged mini game of all time.

I have tried to like Pazzak but it is just annoyning how the opponent gets 20 every time. In Kotor I ez Pazzak mod is required, in Kotor II it is not required but since we don't have all the time in the world to keep quick saving and quick loading, I recomend this mod to save some time.

Not only is pazaak way to luck based to be enjoyable but going first is an extreme disadvantage and of course the player always goes first. Any mod that makes this shit easier is worth it.

yo this totally works thank you so much!... yeah you can still loose sometimes and or get a tie round... and honestly pazaak is pretty easy to play especially once you get good cards... but as far as saving time not wanting to play pazaak but still wanting to beat each player this mod totally works and works great for that... like you said the NPC can only use a -1 card... they will never use anything else other than that -1 card so about 95% of the time they go over 20 and loose

@Sigma Eight It's been actually proven that Pazaak is actually rigged against the player. Likely done so by the devs to make it so you can not farm credits off the mini game easily. Fallout New Vega's solution was to just ban you from gambling. KOTOR II they just made it so the AI has very strong advantages.

You can't see the AI's side deck so it may appear that the mod "does nothing" but unless they're playing cards other than -1's it is working as intended.

If they are playing more than -1's then either the mod didn't install correctly or you are using another mod that alters the pazaakdecks.2da file. For mod conflicts, this file isn't a script and doesn't touch anything else in the game so if you delete that file from the other mod then your compatibility issues should be fixed.

@Mr. Poop Tickler Try uninstalling and reinstall? Perhaps manually deleting the mod folder? Otherwise I'll quote myself from the description "If it does not install correctly, you will need to take the issue up with Valve as I have zero control over Workshop wonkiness" Although in the past few weeks I've had Workshop items going wonkidoodle in a number of games I play and seen big threads about it so that may be happening here too. Steam seems to have borked something in the background.

This mod certainly DOES work! It effectively stops your opponent from using their side deck.
This doesn't mean you always win but they usually have no choice to go over 20, significantly.

Works with content mod and you can safely subscribe and unsubscribe. I didn't have any issues.

If you guys are seriously so worried about farming credits that you want to cheat (and yes, a mod that makes the opponent's hand suck is CHEATING), then just download the save editor and give yourself credits, lmao. Why even waste time with this?

Can you make the decks all +5 cards?

Not for nothing but I tried editing the .2da file and I can't seem to change you rmod at all. Just gonna say, this is okay but if you really wanted Pazaak to be easy you'd give the AI all +5 cards since that is the worst card mathematically in the entire game. -1 allows for a lot more leeway than you'd think.

True that @Igams well said :) Have seen it so well.. :/ I did manage to win in 1st Pazaak gaming session @Telos Cantina. When happened it was without this & took about 20mins. Won with 3-2 Rounds, but darn it sure felt that AI Cheated many times even took only 20mins. From Forums did some reading that some ppl spent upto 2hrs just save & load system to farm cash via Pazaak.

In Kotor 1 i didn't play Pazaak much, but with this one i will. Big thanks to Modder for this & wish safe succesful path ahead

This is actually fair. Just a FYI for those who don't know but the AI cheats really badly in Pazaak in Kotor 1. They fixed this in Kotor 2 and actually have in game dialogue making fun of how bad Pazaak is in Kotor 1. The AI should almost never win with this mod, but even with this they still manage to win about 50% of the time. That just shows you how bad the AI cheats. People have run simulations with Pazaak just to show how badly the Kotor 1 AI cheats.

Also just another tip, but statistically speaking an ideal deck should be composed of mostly +/- 3's and +/- 2's. An ideal hand would probably be something like two +/- 3's, and one each of +/- 2, +/-4, +/-5. At least statistically speaking that is.

Thought I would have a great upper hand with this mod... nope. I lost 4+ times to the first NPC you can pazaak with for money. Not the creators fault at all.. pazaak is just a formula with a % between the cards you have and getting to 20. Sigh

does this work for the mac version?

I would more like to have a mod that showed the opponents deck so that we know that the computer isn't a cheating bastard that just *happened* to have all +/-5 cards that were used when they just *happened* to get 25 each time.

This mod is the single best thing to happen to Pazaak ever. Seriously whoever came up with that mini game diserves to get kicked in the scrotum for making it so fucking against the player's favor.

good, this game was good until a quest that require RNG to butt in, cant even have a decent game when the opponent keep getting 10+10 bullshit, used to love this game but fuk obsidian now

@[TAW] Derisat Hartfelt I always thought the AI cheated too, in both KotORs. Enough that I ended up dissecting files until I found the scripts that control pazaak games. Unfortunately (and believe it or not) they're legit. No cheating, no compensating. You may notice the AI draws more 20's because at this point it has no other option other than to continue drawing against you. This situation is exacerbated when you go first and/or your totals rack up faster than the AI. You hold on, say, 18 and the AI keeps drawing to beat that 18 and ends up with 20 when you had the exact same chance of drawing a 20 had you kept going. Or had the AI racked up faster then it would have held on 18 and the situation would have reversed.

If you're reeeeaaallly bored some night, play 100 games and don't use your side-deck and don't hold - draw until you get 20 or bust. After your night of mind numbing tedium, you should find that you and the AI roughly averaged out to the same number of natural 20's.

after more thorough testing, even though this mod does what it says it does, the AI compensates and does in fact engineer more 21's and perfect 20's for itself, making this mod pointless. a mod would have to remove all cards from an NPC and even then i'm sure it would compensate by getting more perfect 20's
