This contains additional brand new track and scenery between Edge Hill and Manchester Victoria across Chat Moss. This was originally planned for Workshop publication but unfortunately there have been too many issues in getting it published even though only Workshop compatible assets were used.

Hi 737Jockey - thanks for the info. regarding the signs.......glad you liked the route. Have I understood correctly that you used to work on the Lime Street to Victoria route? If so, was that in the 80's? I'm asking as we are currently working on adding in Edge Hill to Manchester Victoria, quite challenging to figure out what scenery to include in some areas due to lack of period photos......you may be able to provide us with some useful information :-)

Hi Andy. Super route rejig.Well done mate. Remember travelling on the DMU's from Picc to Lime Street on a rail rover in the 70's. When I joined the railway we rarely worked over it as Newton Heath/Man Vic men, mainly ECS coaching stock from Lime Street to Longsight, and one oddity was the empty bullion train to Longsight. One minor point - I couldn't get the station signs and Central roof to install until I extracted the ap files with 7-zip in the Assers folder. Worked OK then. Cheers.

Hi Scouser88 - you need to unzip the contents first.......you can either create a folder to unzip to ( to unzip you just grab the Assets Folder in the downloaded zip file and drag it to your new folder, if you prefer you could just drag it to your Desktop where it will unzip - then copy/paste your unzipped assets folder ( from where you created it ) into the Assets Folder in your Railworks Folder ( either by dragging the entire unzipped folder and releasing it while hovering over the Railworks Assets Folder or by opening your unzipped Assets folder and copy/pasting the 3 folder 1 by 1...for the keithmross and RSC folders you will get a warning message asking if you want to overwrite existing files.....for both click "yes". The 3rd file is called LM_reskins.bat, once pasted into the Railworks Assets Folder double-click on it to run the batch file, then you are done. It may seem tricky but take your time. and follow step by step. and you will be fine.

Thanks, no it is only electrified from Manchester Piccadilly into Trafford Park and from Liverpool South Parkway ( Allerton Station for the time period in which this version of the route is set ) and Liverpool Lime Street.

Hi JLD95 - thanks, unfortunately we struggled with the OHLE as it is not our area of expertise, we did appeal for help but to no avail - we are currently working on adding in Edge Hill to Manchester Victoria so if we find any OHLE experts then we may be able to add a fix in the new route....this is breaking new ground so will take some considerable time to complete but ultimately the aim is to have a combined Liverpool to Manchester Route containing the connections to both Piccadilly and Victoria.

Thanks for the feedback LtBligh - to be honest it is ready for finalisation now, have just published a final update which corrects the spelling of a marker at Garston ( was spelt incorrectly in the original route ), moves a signal on the Garston branch which would be hit by passing trains and a few minor scenery improvements.

Please note - for anybody who has created scenarios using Gaston Depot Aggregates as a marker, this has been changed to Garston Depot Aggregates so you will need to change your scenarios accordingly to avoid receiving missing marker errors.

Thank you very much for creating this version of the route, a great time frame in which to set it. I would finalize the route when you are happy with it and feel that you don't want to add to it any more. Please don't feel under pressure to get it done quickly for the scenario creators, as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait! The canal water does look better but yes the trade off is the flashing reflections etc which I can live with TBH :) Enjoyed the scenario too, brought back some memories! Once again many thanks, this is a great project and nice addition to the TS route collection.

I have just pushed out an update which fixes a signal issue at Edge Hill MPD, some small scenery adjustments and a change to the Bridgewater Canal from near Deansgate past Pomona Docks and onwards past Old Trafford football ground. I am happy with the Deansgate area but less so with the section past Pomona Docks and beyond.....unfortunately the canal in the original version of the route is not flat and actually goes uphill :-) This means that when adding the water decal as an overlay it is not possible to add long sections.....this means that there are some strange reflection effects. Please let me know what you think about the canal in this section, if you prefer it as it was then I can change it back.....the original water looks somewhat like silver orange peel .

Unfortunately I could not run the scenario from wotawallys web site, no ap class 40 loco. I await further scenarios. I did find the North Lincolnshire route on the same web site, which is also excellent

Many thanks for the positive ratings - I now have enough to make the route Final, this will mean that scenarios can be published here on the Workshop.....but once I make it Final I will not be able to make any changes or correct any issues - I have a few issues remaining to correct and will have a final run through today to see if there is anything that I missed, will publish an update and will Finalise tomorrow so now is the time to mention anything that you feel should be changed or corrected, please remember that the period is early 1980s.

Ran this route from end to end, absolutely brilliant, an excellent version of the BR Blue period with assets to match the new buildings on the route, superb work guys, well done and thank you, I hope you get lots of thumbs up. :)

The absence of station nameboards will not affect the running of the game, but it is better with them in.

Look in your Assets folder; keithmross/WCML2. Ensure that all the folders are present (ie extracted from the .ap zipped file). If not, then you must extract at least Scenery/Lights n Signs/ Only then should you drop in the extra asset file supplied. Then you should see 2 folders LM_Nameboards and LM_Station_Signs. Look In the first, and open, say, Allerton. You should see a file "Nameboard.GeoPcDx". If it is not there, then you need to activate the batch file supplied. That will place the required shape files in the relevant folders.

Introduced in 1979 (at Didcot East Junction) then swiftly to all other regions (except SR). So well within Blue period. They can be seen in many locations on WCML over Shap, another Blue Era Route.

Excellent interpetation of the earlier period. A question please? The junction at Allerton, Flashing yellows do not seem right for the period, I would have expected approach control to a red for a 20mph junction?

Have just published an update which fixes a signal issue at Cornbrook and a couple of scenery improvements - will download automatically to existing subscribers. There is a slight problem with the asset Batch File which will not fully copy over all of the assets if you are using .ap format files, this is the process of being fixed but in the meantime you can copy over the files manually if you are comfortable with doing this.

Oh, I am not fully familiar with this route in its original form, but I had noticed some of the changes. All looked good to me.

Hi, I have just completed the run, it took me just under 49 minutes. As I don't have the RR class 40 I swapped it for my DT model also I never had the DTG class 45 and coaches, so swapped for the IHH class 45 and the DT Mk2E coaches. All in all a nice scenario.
