I just tried this civ. IN game, are they called Turks or Ottomans? I noticed in the civ list for YaEMP v25 they are listed as the Ottomans.

I cannot get this civ to show up in the list of playable countries no matter what. Enabling the mod seems to do nothing. Are there any known conflicts?

It has served me well to stay clear of Civ mods that have brief mentions of bugs in the Comments sections. They will likely break your game (learned the hard way). But it's only fair to turn it around: I've played with this mod forever and with all kinds of set-ups (Community Balance Patch, etc). Never had a problem. Recommend.

I greatly enjoy your civs and have most of them, but on the Turks, the Civ IV traits don't appear and aren't active. I know you're busy, but would you have any ideas on that? Looking at the mod_support file, everything looks intact. In any event, thank you for all your hard work.

Haha! :steamhappy: Playing this mod was fun. Just make sure you have the required strategic resources before you enter an 'upgrade' age. I will replay the unmodded Ottomans next. That 50 hp heal is a great thing.

Ok. I'm going to ask something that hopefully will not enrage, depress, insult, disgust, etc., everyone in the vicinity.

If I wanted to take the wonderful Bombard unit from the spectacular JFD&Jan Mehmed II mod, and place it into the beautifully reconstructed JFD&Jan The Ottomans mod, while removing the hideous, tedious, and evil Vanilla Sipahi unit, could I do it with relative ease, by copying and pasting a few lines of code from one file to another? Or would I have to actually learn how to code and develop even a shred of talent in order to earn my right to fiddle around with gameguts, like everyone else in this wretched world?

I've looked at the modding guides, and tried to marry it with looking at the code, but it remains pretty impenetrable. The extent of my modding ability is creating new nations on EUIV, which isn't really up to CiV snuff.

This mod is great if slightly overpowered. :) It wil certainly keep other civs on their toes since every major unit research upgrade can HUGELY impact your army's strength. Also, the Great Bombard is very advantageous. Lastly, the free gun unit with city capture is icing on the cake. Extremely fun mod though!
