no battery included, no roof (lmao)... Im not sure how this could be considered even close to functional
Doesn't work very well. can be broke very easily. (open both doors letting all oxygen out)
Sorry to necro. I'm a bit late to the SE party
From the picture, it looks like all you need to make it fully enclosed are 9 light armor blocks, or any other fully sealable blocks. I personally like that it was uploaded this way, because it allows you to see all the working parts at a glance.
Maybe build a version, that is a fully enclosed room.
@Wolverine thanks! Good to hear it still works. If I can find the time I will make a smaller version
Perfect! Used a Projector to build it in survival, works great.

@formula409x
I see what you mean. The system has no way to fill he room with oxygen as it follows the same pattern as when you want to go outside of your ship. You could fix it but it would required adding more timer blocks ( 2 more or so ). A different solution would by by using a hybrid system: to enter the airlock you use the sensors but once you are inside the airlock you use buttons ( do this by changing the sensor range in such a way that it only detects the outside of the airlock ). In case you get blown backwards you will not trigger the sensor. This way you keep the contraption easy and small.

I tried to use this and like every other airlock iv tried, i have a problem with beeing blown back towards the outer door when i open the inner door.

I took exactly what you made here and just sealed up the top of the irlock room and added a room past the inner door that has O2. Every time i enter the airlock and try to enter the room past the inner door i just get propelled backwards which in turn trips the outer door sensor.

I tried this in two ways.. the room past the inner door, i enclosed tghe whole back to make use of the vent you already had. Another i added an O2 Gen and a vent in that room considering that is how my ship will have O2.

The way your system is set up it does not seem to pressurize the airlock in time for the inner door to open.

Timer Enter 2
Turn Off - Inner Door
Open - Outer Door
(optional) Turn Off - Airlock Working Lights
(optional) Turn Off - Inner Door Unlocked Lights - Outer Door Locked Lights
(optional) Turn On - Inner Door Locked Lights - Outer Door Unlocked Lights

If using buttons then panel in center of airlock will be setup so the button facing into ship triggers Timer Exit 1 while button facing outside ship triggers Timer Enter 1. If using sensors then it will be automatic because the inner sensor will trigger Timer Exit 1. Timers for exit will be setup in reverse of enter. The lights are optional to allow you to know what the airlock status is. I recommend using Hangar Doors since they don't have buttons for someone to mess with.
What about seting it up so it has 4 timers so they are named:
Timer Enter 1
Timer Enter 2
Timer Exit 1
Timer Exit 2

Then they can be set up as follows:
Outside sensor (or button) triggers Timer Enter 1
Timer Enter 1
Close - Inner Door
Depressurize On
Turn On - Outer Door
(optional) Turn On - Airlock Working Lights

Air Vent Empty - Trigger Timer Enter 2

Fair enough. Thanks.
In survival I would suggest using a projectorblock or build it from the ground up using the video as a guideline.
Hugh Bris 2015
I really like this but I am having a DEVIL of a time adding it to an existing station using copy and paste. I'm using a dedicated server with Midspace's Admin Helper. I enable creative and Copy and Paste and I can pull the blueprint and paste it into the world but it's always facing wrong and I can't paste it onto the station.

Is it even possible to do that or do I have to start with the airlock and build from that?
Simple and smart: well done!
Luke desperaux 2015
it´s really cool , but i think you can more. For example an automated defense system, depressurize if an enemy is in the room. Something like that.
*={M}=*Pla( . Y . )fulMi3antrop!
you dont need the depress part do you? like no oxygen system to that airlock, just have it close the outer behind you then open the inner same effect right?
And if the person decided to leave instead of go in they would dump all the oxygen.
@Mikemc well it would make the system more complicated, yet it's not really required as the room gets filled with the oxygen of the inner room.
I tried too to reduce the number of Timer Blocks, never thought to start them as a group and at the same time. Thanks so much for your very clever idea !
i like music
In the video the vent adds the air after the inner doors are opened. Should it add air before opening the doors?
Cool :D
Yes, you can simply remove the button pannel and leave the sensors to make it fully automatic.
So, it can be fully automatic without need to press the buttons? And no blocks placed inside the airlock?
Neonin 2015
A great, effective design and many thanks for sharing it. I planned on doing it myself but why reinvent the wheel! ;)
thanks guys! You are the reason I put all this effort in it
Good job, bro. I build similar mechanism, but your system cheaper because I used 4 timer blocks.
Thnx for great video guide!
Excelent work!
Really well explained, also loved the music.
Oh yes haha, It's as easy as that. I hope it works out for you!
that is what i ment lol sorry if i didnt make it more clear, i have a ship that i would love to put an airlock like this on
you can copy paste it in creative but in survival it won't work, as if you build the blocks it won't remember what they are supposed to do. I uploaded this blueprint so you can better understand how the system works by taking a look at it in creative and then replicate it in survival.
is this able to be used on a ship that is already buiilt, just put the componets in the ship and hook them up the way you did?
Thanks!
Noscal 2015
Loaded and customized for my exploration ship, this is the simplest air-lock I have seen. GREAT JOB.

Now with oxygen in SE your blueprint will become very handy thank you! :ggechamp: :bigups:
