AI cheats in this, tired of getting battered down by endless stacks from Carthage, they ally with Syracuse so it makes taking Sicily impossible. As Rome if you secure the peninsula you should be able to field more armies than one city.. I go to finally recruiting doom stacks and now I encounter food shortage? lame. I understand this should be more difficult but this comes off as not fair, does Carthage AI have no other agency to do things other than screw me over? Initially I just wanted to be friendly with them and build up elsewhere since out the gate your at war with Epirus and Etruscans but nooooo every save they instantly flip from Green to declaring war for no reason.

Hey R3B3L I once had the same problem. What I did was delete rome2 and its files in two seperate locations. First location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II . Here you delete the folder named Total War Rome 2. Now you also need to delete the files at another place: C:\Users\Seb7l\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2. Then you need to reinstall rome 2 on steam. Now I dont know if this will work, since the problem you talk about appears to be because of the cpu core issue. I had the same problem with battle crashes, but it was fixed when I reduced the cores used by rome2 in task manager. Hope this might help tho.

That is new to me, try to verify game files in Steam.

Hey, I have no other mods besides DEI. This is the first time using mods on RT2. I start a campaign and everything is fine until I click something, anything, and the game just freezes. I've tried disabling the cores as suggested Kam2150, but to no avail. What do I do? I was soooo excited to experience the mod. Everything look so beautiful.

Ok I just followed the advice from kam1250, and turned off my CPU cores 23, 22 and 21 in the details tab for rome2.exe in task manager. I relaunched the game and I can enter the battle now. Thanks.

I am also having problems with ground battles freezing before entering battles, during the battle load screen. I did a fresh reinstall several times and it keeps happening eventually. I only have dei parts 1,2,3 installed. The out of date mods warning then comes up on steam when trying to launch the game again.

I create a discussion with the steps to run it on Ubuntu

Hello all

Can someone explain me how to activate the mod in Unix with Proton DB 9.4 activated please?
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. kl. 13:14
Edwardo, from my experience, most people play on Ultra.
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. kl. 13:13
If you are on Win11, do below:

1. Launch the Game – Start Total War: Rome II
2. Open Task Manager
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Alternatively, you can right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
3. Go to the Details Tab
In Task Manager, click on the Details tab at the top.
Look for rome2.exe in the list of running processes.
4. Set CPU Affinity
Right-click rome2.exe and select Set Affinity from the dropdown menu.
5. Unselect Some CPU Cores
A window will appear showing which CPU cores the game is using.
Uncheck a few cores (for example, if you have 6 cores, uncheck CPU 9 to 11).
Click OK to apply the changes.
6. Resume the Game

This fix can be applied even if game already froze.

MS messed up last Win11 update and it causes crashes in many games.

Hello!

I also have problems randomly with entering ground battles.... everything worked fine before that, and i even fought several ground battles in the same campaign, but it keeps randomly happening.

It simply freezes on the loading screen. The game window is not frozen itself, but the loading bar is stuck at the start, and does not move even after many minutes. I can still move my cursor, and there is game music playing in the background.

And even if i close the game, and retry, that same battle is never allowing me to go into ground battles. It only allow me to auto resolve....

Pls help.

i have now re installed steam and the game and am currently trying to reinstal the mods and hope they work.
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 29. sep. kl. 0:58
jakemurray348, if you had a crash or installed mod manually, game will always say that you have out of date mods.

I reinstalled the mods, i now only freeze in the loading screen prior to entering a battle. I tried to run this without other mods but i would receive the same result. I also use to be able to run this with the RoR (Rise of Rome) mod but is that not the case anymore?
jakemurray348 28. sep. kl. 20:07

@Deacon:

Thats not right haha -400340343 food
Have you verified the game files for corruption? or, are you running other mods alongside DEI?

You may have mod incompatibilities if you are and caused that food glitch.
Or you're cheating and have 99999999999999999999999 20 stack armies out in the field (which I doubt haha).
DASMEXX Got the Cards 28. sep. kl. 13:28
@Clockwork:

I might feel that way at times, I assume you're fighting against Cathage?
If you are and if not, this tip works for me most of the time -

Take/Sack farming & trade settlements weakening the enemy which hits the armies via attrition.
I use x2 stack armies for this:

One army is used in raid stance next or near the other army attacking/sacking settlements.

They wont be able to feed their armies and make for easy pickings.
DASMEXX Got the Cards 28. sep. kl. 13:24
@smakdownklown:

Haha I understand your frustration BUT.... Epiros & The Etruscans are easy to take out.
Not going to tell you how as it spoils the fun trying tactics etc BUT.... I will say use a Spy & Ambush position for Epiros & Blunt brute force on the Etruscans.

I write no more :)
Clockwork 28. sep. kl. 10:17
The public order is too harsh. It isn't fun smashing stack after stack of enemies like Whac-A-Mole. AI seems to have limitless resources to field armies. Is this mod made for masochists?
Deacon 27. sep. kl. 22:30
This mod made me uninstall rome 2. It is so difficult and retarded. -400340343 food. What?
Seba SPQR 27. sep. kl. 10:27
hay alguna manera de quitar la formación defensiva y poner muro de escudo? la batalla se vuelve estresante :steamfacepalm:
smakdownklown 27. sep. kl. 8:28
Why is Rome the hardest campaign when it says easy? You get boned by Epirus that can just afford better units with only 2 cities. The Etruscans are annoying as they dig in their one city and you have to dedicate a serious army taking them out, and Carthage just dominates with hordes of armies. I feel like you deserve some grace period like not starting at war with Epirus or something I find myself constantly paying them off and being broke all the time.I know its a skill issue but historically there were still independent city states in the south, I feel like rome would've finished the etruscans before fighting Pyrrhus. I shouldn't be bankrupt fighting these two when the final boss Carthage just spams armies and is at war with pretty much everybody but has time to screw me over. Where are my Legions bro??
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. kl. 14:03
They are DLC faction. You can't unlock DLC factions with faction unlockers.
Hampus 26. sep. kl. 14:00
Anyone know why I can't play the Lusitani faction? Can't see it any where (I have all factions unlocked submod, loaded at the top).
Lofty 26. sep. kl. 11:09
Just wanted to say, with so many comments being whiny and selfish, thank you to the whole team on this amazing mod!
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. kl. 5:03
It is integrated into the mod.
Ωverlord 26. sep. kl. 4:08
Quick question, is the DEI Alexander campaign not available anymore or is it included in the DEI collection? Thx
Emperor Nuclear 25. sep. kl. 23:28
I would love to see the election system of the Rise of the Republic in the Grand Campaign.
z.skau 25. sep. kl. 21:06
Is there a 2x unit size thats compatible?
KEYZZERR 25. sep. kl. 14:52
Guys, when are you gonna make your own strategy game? Really great developers!
Thanks for all the hours of entertainment you have given. Godspeed!
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 25. sep. kl. 13:14
Papasmurf, verify game files and remove incompatible mods.
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 25. sep. kl. 13:13
Because at the end of the day, it is still a game.
yyy 25. sep. kl. 9:57
why the fuck do you need to wait 40 turns for polybian reforms. Punic war triggers on turn fucking 15 and i gotta fight 10 doomstack full of towel head skirmishers with camillian spearmen?
Papasmurf 24. sep. kl. 8:51
keep getting crashes
ScoobySnacks832 23. sep. kl. 15:45
ahh makes sense thank you
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 23. sep. kl. 14:26
Only Rome gets them in Imperial reform but to be accurate, nobody should have them in Grand Campaign as there were not invented until around 350 AD.
ScoobySnacks832 23. sep. kl. 14:16
are onagers avaliable in dei? i have made a few siege workshops and even at syracuse and maxed out the whole province and no onager recruitment avaliable im building a workshop in athens and alexandria these upcoming turns but this is my second campaign and still using ballistas to break walls.
EarlOfTheSky 22. sep. kl. 17:26
I'm unable to start custom battles even tho there's much denarii left, it's saying that "Unable to declare ready as a player has spent too much on their army setup" or something, but as I said, I inputted custom denarii. I'm only able to start by removing some units, Is there something I'm doing wrong?
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 22. sep. kl. 13:09
Todd Howitzer, so that AI does not become useless past turn 50, after which usual snowball starts in TW.
kam2150  [ophavsmand] 22. sep. kl. 13:08
If you get random CTDs, check for incompatible submods and verify game files in Steam.
3voltion 21. sep. kl. 9:11
I keep getting random ctd on ai turn
Todd Howitzer 21. sep. kl. 3:31
The biggest ai cheats I have ever seen and I play a lot of total war.
What is even the point of adding so much features if they doesnt even work?
Dr. Quackers M.D. 16. sep. kl. 11:38
From your tips...
Use some of that starting treasury for gifts to secure some basic agreements from other factions. Then, use money to improve those agreements.
That absolutely didnt work and no mater how many time i replay the turn Rome wants Sparta's head
Dr. Quackers M.D. 16. sep. kl. 11:33
They are to aggressive. I have a +81 with Rome Non-aggression pact and mil access the next turn after we negotiate it they declare war on me. This is stupid what the point in diplomacy then.....
Dr. Quackers M.D. 16. sep. kl. 7:54
I feel the AI has become hyper aggressive. AS Sparta I helped Rome defeat Epirus gave them gold, we had +62 relation and they declared war instead of asking for a non-aggression. Its the same thing over and over and over but all AI unless they are greek are super aggressive even with positive relations pushing +100
