@vaessili: I was more thinking about a hidden "objective" with a narrative event triggering if the frigate gets close to the Spanish wreck after the Russian corvette is destroyed akin to how the land-based NH-90 triggers a narrative update with the fishing ship rescue. Dunno if it could modify the end narrative to possibly highlight that the quick rescue of allied survivors despite the situation is a big political win for the alliance as a whole .

I'm very new to the mission editor but for the survivor rescue you could maybe add a trigger to add a proximity trigger to the location of the sunk ship

@everyone, there will be an update of the mission, there's an issue triggering victory once the escort mission is complete. I've fixed it.

I'll also remove one of the failed mission trigger, but no spoil. Thanks to all for your words, your feedback and your support :)

@Rufus Shinra : Thanks for the feedback. As we speak, it's impossible to tie a survivor recovery to a trigger. So I can't make it so, saving people enable an objective for the player. May be in the future, I hope so :)

Really good mission, although I'm probably going to be yelled at by the beancounters for how many weapons I shot at the targets. I tried rescueing the Spanish frigate's crew, hoping for an event if the FREMM got to its wreck fast enough. No such luck, though.

@General Runtime, there's an issue with the victory trigger, I'm aware of it and working to fix it. It will be done within a couple of hours

an extreamily well made mission for the peaceful path.

tho with the warlike path, if the US sub is hit by anything it will say the player friendly fired on it and fail the mission. [\spoiler]

addtionally I wish we had an MPA to support

well i have some issues, the game is saying that the "mods are not declared to be compatible with this version of sea power by their author" what can i do ?

Really cool mission(s). It’s more like two missions in one with the option to choose in the beginning. Very detailed scripts and even with a secondary objective. I like that.


However, no matter what I did, I couldn’t identify the American sub. Dropping sonobuoys all around it, (both active and passive) even lowering the dipping sonar of the heli RIGHT NEXT to the sub while it is going 30kn. Might not be because of your scenario but I wanted to mention it anyways.

Excellent mission. You really captured the peacetime navy operations really well. Definitely more missions with tense cat and mouse games on the verge of outbreak of WWIII are needed.

I think this is the first mission I've played that actually let you use diplomacy. Normally it's "find sub, sink sub" but this one actually let you escort the subs out. Great Mission :)

A lighter version of the mission has been added. It includes fewer civilian units, which should make the scenario more enjoyable to play on mid-range systems.

@All You Can Eat, Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I think I’ll make a light version for players who don’t have NASA-grade computers at home. Noted.

As for Norman, well, SP is also a bit trollish when it comes to waypoints. Even when you assign waypoints to a neutral unit, half the time it just does its own thing, submarines especially. I tore my hair out trying to get a result that fit the narrative. In the end, I had to go with the solution you experienced while playing the mission. It’s not the one I wanted, but it’s the most elegant one I can achieve with my current level of mastery of the editor.

Hey, just tried your mission. I liked the story stuff, very nice!

It was kind of hard on my computer though, I think you could cut down on like 25% of the merchants maybe lol, the channel is very busy in real life so you were accurate but you know

Also I don't want to say a spoiler so I will try to be vague: when the man named Norman came to help, his guest was also put on the player's side, not sure if that's intentional. I went along with it though. I know Sea Power doesn't make it easy to maintain a narrative, but I think you can do what you intended with waypoints for the guest instead.

@philzon This frigate is basically the main character of the mission. I just forgot to put it back in the required mod list. It's done now :steamthumbsup:
