does this mod fix what the levy could hardly hurt the regulars?

@Gliese581 Levy efficiency was set to 1 in 1.0.4. That value got removed and it was then 0.05. 0.05*20=1, the old value.

How did you arrive at the number of 20 for levy efficiency? In game it says my levy efficiency (in the army tab) is 2000%, and looking at the change you made you set it to 20 rather than .20. Doesn't that mean that you have in fact buffed levies to have 20x normal strength?

I think the other mod is better. The results are more similar to what you would expect.

@Gliese581 The other mod adjusts an unrelated modifier. It would leave levies still much weaker than before.
My mod was aiming at replicating 1.0.4, without any personal preference balancing changes.

What is the functional difference between this mod and the 1.06 levy fix mod? It seems you are adjusting different modifiers from one another.

@Magnus I did not spend any time doing deep tests.
1. Regulars seem to be of similar strength as 1.0.4.
2. Levies too. This fix does not make them accidentally 20x stronger against everyone.

There was some stuff for higher ages where the levy_combat_efficiency constant was battling with each other, but from the looks of it it should be fine. That was actually the reason for the "bugfix". levy_combat_efficiency=1 was always active and now it is again (just in the form of levy_combat_efficiency_modifier=20 aka 0.05*20=1).

So does anyone have any experience if this makes any behaviour stupid? Or is this just effectively a rollback while keeping 1.06 fixes.

I was watching a war between serbia and the byzantines and saw the byzantines losing despite having like 2x the army so switched to see what was happening and was confused because they just never moved their army to attack so now im guessing the reason was serbia had regulars and they didnt lol

That's what I thought. It's perfectly playable, especially if you want to use all the 1.0.5/6 fixes.
