Maybe for certain kinds of woods, but to my knowledge you’re looking for more of a shaven wood texture; lighter in color instead of darker.

Check out in the in-game war paint viewer skins like Lumber From Down Under, Local Hero, Tartan Torpedo, and Hickory Hole Puncher (in all wears). I think those are some good examples of Valve-made skins with well executed wood wear. (Mind you they did make a mistake of having the grain of the worn wood texture misaligned with the grain of the clean texture lol).

wood wearing down to a dark gray texture was intentional actually. i researched how wood wears down and isn't that how it's suppose to be?

Very cool! Appreciate the custom wear on the metal textures. My only criticism is that I think the wood should have custom wear as well. Since it wears down to metal, it makes the wood appear fake (which wouldn't be the case for vintage weapons).

@fantach Its texture mapping is bad compared to other skins in the game (ex: the grenade launcher) and sadly this base suffers from the same issues that other orientation locked weapons have where it isnt consistent across weapons. The custom wear is also bugged, meaning itll appear as white sometimes in game.

I think the metal is a tad too bright, color or alpha, but other than that looks epic
