I'm a monarchist and you are correct. Empress Consort/Queen Consort like that of Empress Regnant/Queen Regnant is a position not a title. The title for both is legally Her Imperial Majesty The Empress/Her Majesty The Queen.

I'm looking at altering the naming conventions, however that's a bit more involved so may take a moment. I did consider distinguishing between Empress/Queens Regnant and Consort, however in English those aren't generally used as 'titles' but more as a 'position', e.g. Camilla is usually just referred to as 'the Queen' or 'Queen Camilla' rather than as 'Queen-Consort', same with Wu Zetian in English sources as well as the game itself - spouses of European monarchs don't have a 'consort' title. The exception to this being Empress/Queen Dowager, which I have kept as such.

You should distinguish between Empress/Queen Regnant ( Euro examples for comparison: Victoria and Elizabeths I and II) and Empress/Queen Consort ( Eleanor of Aquitaine, Camilla).

Nuhuangdi = Empress Regnant (basically only Chinese example is Wu Zetian -- Cixi otoh was an Empress Dowager (Tai Hou) acting as Regent.

Nuwang = Queen Regnant

Huanghou = Empress Consort

Wanghou = Queen Consort

Cool. It would be awesome not to have the surnames in the title as well.
