Masochist and maybe some other traits are on my to-do list, but not very high up. I will add reaction to them eventually.
The features are applied to the parent if children have these traits, yes. Why wouldn't they be applied if it's parents' concern, not children's. There will be mirror reaction for children about their parents, and then psycho kids won't care about their old folks.
If your child was some freaky masochist, you wouldn't be happy for them being in pain, though. You'd still worry about them, and probably be grossed out by their masochism, and not be a fan of anyone who indulges those masochistic tendencies.
On the other hand I see "Parents will hate those who harmed their children." as a great addition that should be in the base game.
In my thinking cannibals have twisted pov, so I included them by default.
