Thanks for the feedback, @Dr. Wicked. I realized I uploaded the wrong mod file. It's a file I use for my tests, and there were still some graphics tests in it, so that could cause performance issues.

I'm going to update with the correct file, so that should fix the problem. Don't hesitate to let me know if there's a problem.

This is good, and has very little performance impact during most of the gameplay, whenever someone builds, deconstructs or destroys a wall, there is a pretty noticeable hitch. And when a 10k raid point mech cluster dropped on my map with a ton of walls, it became a slideshow for like 3 minutes straight while all the walls were being created.

Instant sub then for that. I hate how I couldn't have covered walkways without my pawns complaining about it either being dark or being wet from the rain if I didn't have the walkway covered lol. These mf pawns sometimes lol.

yes @DarakuGato, the % of light comes from RimWorld itself, so the pawns take that into account.

I assume this would fix the wonkiness when you build walkways outside with a roof for rain? The slower walk speed from darkness being fixed with this is the big thing.

@Kokorocodon actually, it doesn't require a lot of performance, I made sure to do it like in the basic RimWorld, that is to say that the map is divided into several subsections, to simplify if the section is not touched = no calculation (so no scanning of the map all the time, which would cause a drop in performance if this was the case).

So @Alma_S (and those who have the same problem) if I understand correctly you must have a compatibility problem, if you have another mod that manages the light it must come from there, personally I have more than 100 mods and I have no problem, but I note your comment and once I have updated my mod and it is as I would like it I will look into the compatibility of my mod, and thank you for the feedback.

@shady some of us just want roofed fire breaks without making it dark all the time. it happens in early game where there are other higher priorities, and its absolutely jarring to have dark fire breaks in the middle of the day

I wanted to support the shadows created by light hitting the walls under the eaves, rather than just mapping. So that the darker shadows provided by the mod Realistic Lighting and Shadows no longer form broken shadows, thank you.

ah thanks, normally it is not necessarily necessary to load it after DBH but just one in case.

I saw in the mod details that it needs to be loaded after DBH. You need to add this to your about.xml to ensure that this happens:

<li>dubwise.dubsbadhygiene</li>
</loadAfter>

Place it between the last 2 lines of code in the file, so that the end of the file looks like this:

As I mentioned before, I'm already trying to improve my mod as best I can and fix some bugs. I'm now going to look into compatibility with mods that manage lighting.

For your information, my coding skills are limited to planting a tree... no, that's not a typo or a translation issue; I'm talking about planting trees, flowers, trimming hedges, and mowing the lawn. I'm a landscaper by training and have no coding skills... so bear with me! ^^

I didn't know Adjacent Light until now, thanks for making me discover it, but no it's not a cover.

And I'm trying to fix the remaining problems and make the light degrader work, so for now I'm not trying to make it compatible with other mods that manage light.
