Your right. The latest update introduced a Harmony depencendy. Sorry for that!
Apparently your mod needs Harmony which I didn't have installed (which makes me wonder why it worked a few days ago...), I've installed the Harmony as a dependency for another mod and now yours started working as before.

The mod suddenly stopped working, a few days ago it was fine and now it throws this:

RimWorld 1.6.4566 rev607
Error while instantiating a mod of type IntellectualMatters.ModInit: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.TypeLoadException: Could not resolve type with token 0100000c from typeref (expected class 'HarmonyLib.Harmony' in assembly '0Harmony, Version=2.3.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null')

Yours is the only mod I use for now, and the game wasn't updated since August I believe. Any idea what's causing this?

Untested. Give it a shot
Balin 9
will work with Vanilla Skills Expanded, Mad Skills+, Alpha Skills?
@Anker added the feature as per your idea :-)
That would work, yes. Might consider it!
Anker 9
I wonder if you also gain some intellectual skill on the side of other skill types, since it governs general learning? So pawns become generally more capable over time, while intellectually gifted pawns are naturally accelerated. Just so long as pawns without intellectual stats *don't* become functionally worthless in comparison...
Should be sav-game compatible. The mod just multiplies learning XP with the factors configured in the mod settings.
Save compat? My Giga-Brain scientist needs this.
Yonan 9
Awesome @LikewishHH, looking forward to trying this out in my new game today! <3
Absolutely possible but sounds like a different mod idea
can you make pawns with high intelectual also have more mental breaks, more loss in certenty, and basicly more mental stuff since smarter people are more depressed then stupid people
Possible but trickier. Because right now I am just hooking into the already existing global learning factor. Look at my mod for the cooking skill. You should be able to replicate that logic for any other skill. The source code is part of the mod
Hello, is it difficult to make this modification of XP gained with the other skills? Some skills are much easier to upgrade than others, and I would like to have control over this :(
@Benetrator @Yonan I added two sliders to the settings menu. You can now tweak how fast XP is gained or lost for the intellectual skill. You can set both to zero so the intellectual skill is frozen and cannot be learned (not sure about skill trainers TBH).

Hello LikewiseHH, that's an interesting mod. So I created a mod "Intellectual Matters_zh" that adds a Chinese translation for your mod and published it on the workshop. Thank you for your contribution! Keep on keeping on!:dslike:
Latex Santa 9
I like the mod as it is right now.
I'd mostly add it in for low-colonist-count colonies or Solo Superman runs.
Yonan 9
@Benetrator I really like that idea, having Intellect itself much harder to train.
Benetrator - Beton 9
Maybe instead of capping it you could set the skill gain speed for intellectual to like 10% or so? That way pawns can get slightly smarter but as in real life it is mostly predetermined. Maybe add glittertech IQ boosters?
I'd download, But would rather have intellectual be capped randomly. Instead of it getting leveled up
Lekoda 9
It is a good idea spagoo, but not for something like rimworld.
Inhuman Thoughts 9
There is a difference in the capacity to learn and understanding of the sciences, which is what intellectual skill actually represents. Knowing best how to develop technology and sequence dna isnt going to make you better at learning how to fence or machine steel. global learning factor is the actual measure of intelligence for pawns.
Obviously some stuff like muscle mass and weight can be changed, while intelligence, reflexes and other stuff can't. What I mean is, a mod that adds separation between physical and knowledge stats, with some possible to improve while others not.
@Spagootnoodels while that is a great idea, as the skill system is implemented currently, it wouldn't make much sense. In fact, the whole pawn trait and skill system would need some kind of rework, where you have biological stats separate from skill knowledge, stuff such as body weight, strength, intelligence and other stats that can't be learned but you are born with. Such a mod would be great.
This would work interestingly if, say, the Intellectual skill for each pawn was capped to whatever they had on first arrival and didn't increase from doing research or making drugs. That way instead of just training everyone to have 20 Intellectual and handing out huge learning bonuses like candy, you'd simply have some pawns that are naturally smarter than others. This would also mean your smarter pawns would not only research faster than everyone else, but also learn weapon skills and other stuff faster, making them more valuable and more risky to lose. Probably an incredibly dumb idea but I'd like to try that some day lol. Haven't yet found a way to stop Intellectual xp gain though...
a very reasonable mod:steamthumbsup:

"Try two hand blunt straight to the mouth!" Neanderthal Ideology
Haven't tested with endless growth. It will likely work but any level above 20 won't increase the learning speed any further. So the value from lvl 20 should then still apply
is there/will there be support for endless growth?
Salt Dagger 9
Neanderthals would be mad af about this mod if they could read
