Zal's version is still up on the workshop. This mod's description states this is a work in progress. I am actively working on it. I see no reason to revert here.

Switched also - startup errors gone and I van make any lumber I have logs for.

@TeH_Dav Perhaps, re-loading Zaljerem's version and testing this version a bit more might be in order

@TakeABreak, what tree is it that you experienced this with specifically. I need to look at a def to get an idea of how to make it so people can chop down a tree for wood, but also separately harvest a tree for fruit.

I did a complete rework of the mod focusing on using the xmls instead of dynamically generating everything, and that seemed to resolve the major issues from before. If any of you encounter new problems with the mod, please let me know in the bug reports section - logs preferred.

That is what it is supposed to do. What is supposed to happen is that people process the individual types of wood into raw lumber/green lumber of that type, then its supposed to be dried into lumber of its type. Unfortunately it seems the system isn't working as its supposed to right now. :/ Honestly, the whole mod isn't working as its supposed to right now.

Does the Simple Chains: Lumber patch retain the different wood types? As in, does pine wood become green lumber, and then dry into pine lumber?

In general it seems that the wood log category is not updated or added to the work recipes. Or that the newly added wood types are not correctly added to the "wood log" category, as I have to select them manually in storage zones, instead of just ticking "wood logs".

In the woodworking table only a small quantity of wood log types is selected by ticking "wood logs". All of the other types are not visible in the recipes.

For anyone else that has the issue with the biofuel refinery not taking all wood log types, use QoL (Rimmsqol mod) to edit the ingredients and add the category "wood logs" to it. Then you can select all wood log types in the recipe again.

@TeH_Dav Leaguenet's issue with Occular and Gauranlen wood tie into my theory I mentioned in the bug reports section. Interesting to note that those two lumbers actually show up under the Raw Resources/LUMBER category and the rest of the lumber just shows up under Raw Resources. I'm guessing the ruin generator is pulling randomly from the Raw Resources/LUMBER and only finding those two.

BTW, an idea for an alternative way to deal with the ruins - since this mod already adds rotten wood, maybe rotten lumber should be a thing, and all the ruins should be made of it - after all, they're crumbling structures that were standing there for quite a while already.

Yes, they are. Toxwood wasn't even supposed to be in if players don't have Biomes! Polluted Lands installed, so that will hopefully be fixed in the next update. As for guaranlan bugging, that I don't udnerrstand. I'll look into it.

I should also add that the lumber from deconstructing gauranlen ruin walls seems to produce some kind of bugged lumber - it can't be right-clicked to tell pawns to haul it, it can't be allowed/disallowed. And toxwood walls simply yield toxwood logs when deconstructed - aren't all walls supposed to be constructed from lumber?

Nope, same result as before. And yes, I made sure that the mod was updated. It's really easy to check for yourself - just do a dev quicktest.

(obviously no ocular wood in the below case as that's from Alpha series, but I thought it was notable too as this pops up both in a clean list and in a rather lengthy modlist)

After more extensive testing, camellia and toxwood too - but that's it. Easily reproducible with a clean list of just EW + Harmony.

With this version, the random wooden ruins for me spawn only out of ocular and gauranlen wood. Other types of wood exist - if you chop an oak, you get oak logs etc., but ruins specifically only generate from the above two wood types for some reason. That wasn't the case in the old mod, where all normal wood types were used for that.

@-=GoW=-Dennis I originally helped TeH_Dav dial into errors spawning from VTE and Alpha Animals. If there are new errors, they aren't in my mod list....

@[CoFR] Codo I got it to work by removing a batch of around 200 mods, but I cannot figure out which ones in that are causing it, as removing every single one-by one or in smaller batches does not get rid of the issue.

Though, while I use VTE, it is not in that batch - e.g. I was able to play with VTE and EW without a crash bug. And I still have the crash bug after the latest update for EW addressing the VTE crash bug.

@Tetsu-Ryu, I just pushed a fix for the harmony error at least. Seems I forgot to gate the patch behind requiring the mod its patching. Ooops.

As far as the CTD, if that was related to the Vanilla Trading Expanded/Steam Overlay bug, then that should be resolved now. If not, then that's a new issue that I'm going to need more info on. But first, reinstall this mod and launch the game to see if you still get the errors.

I am getting a new error after startup, that Harmony Patches failed with EW. And I had a CTD, the run before, that never happened before (might be unrelated).

@-=GoW=-Dennis It might be a conflict with Vanilla Trading Expanded. I've been troubleshooting to dial in which of my mods was causing the CTD with EW. TeH_Dav says he'll be pushing a patch based on the info I gave.

I now have a similar issue, with this mod installed RimWorld doesn't start up anymore, it just closes, the log just ends at some point:

I don't know what's going on, but this mod is suddenly started crashing my rimworld hard. So hard, it disables ALL mods. Took me a couple of hours to figure out which mod is doing it, but I dialed it down to this one. It generates SO many errors, the trace says at the end that it doesn't want to log any more errors.

thanks. never knew the official version was abandoned, but noticed it throws some errors on start-up. one of the essential mods for me since very early A-versions.

@-=GoW=-Dennis I have no knowledge of this patch, so I can't say that it has or hasn't been incorporate. There was no Alpha Animals patch in the original code for this mod, so I must assume you're referring to a separate mod that patches this one in relation to Alpha Animals. Do you know what the patch did? I'm not familiar with any trees from Alpha Animals, so is this patching something else?

If you have the patch files and are willing to join my discord and send them to me there in the appropriate chat, that would be swell. I'd be happy to incorporate them and eliminate all doubt lol.

So the old Alpha Animals compatibility patch is no longer necessary with this mod? (It's been hidden for long, but people that still had it, could still use it)

@Cralis7 For the wood from any of the Alpha mods, I incorporated those into the mix itself. As for the Anima wood I did you one better; instead of the patch for Anima wood, I incorporated the actual mods themselves, with Zal's permission of course, into this mod. I actually need to add those mods as incompatible, so thanks for reminding me.

There are two additional patches that used to exist for this to integrate wood from Alpha Animals and Anima Wood. I don't see them on your list, but I'm hoping they'll work with this updated version of the mod.
