I updated the mod. It should now turn off when you do it manually.

To move things forward, I remade the method that keeps radio stations on. I also created separate mods for each aspect. You can follow the main mod here:

UAL - Unequip And Listen: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3568445867

I will also test new sound mods and create patches for them, the same way I did with the broadcast voice. If I can, of course.

It’s something I had been waiting years for someone else to do, but in the end I decided to do it myself.

@Combine
This mod is vanilla-friendly. The issue is that some other mods disable the radio using methods other than the vanilla one, which is why each case must be investigated.

@Stakk and @abeletes
This bug is caused by the new approach. I will look into it.

I will also split the mod into two parts, because turning the radio on is one thing and playing radio stations is another. This way we can create other mods and adjust them for specific cases instead of trying to cover everything at once.

@ribs yo, wanted to ask if the ProjectZomboid zip file is the same one as from the legacy version of KTRO? i wanted to continue using the legacy version for now until you've made some fixes on the mod friendly version of KTRO

cheers

@ribs - Thanks for getting back to me.
So the issue I am having is that Survivor Radio has no audio, unlike how it worked in B41.
True Music is working as it should, with audio.

I get your mod does not allow the radio to switch off when on your belt, does this mean you read Survivor radio when you use both mods? Or do you have audio with Survivor Radio in B42 with your mods also enabled?

Your mod is great for keeping up on the emergency broadcast channel when on your belt. You cant listen/read True Music from a walkie as it has no cassette or CD player. I'm just trying to identify why Survivor Radio has no audio in my games. So do you have audio of survivor radio in B42 either on your walkie or radio?

Also as abeletes mentioned below, its not possible to turn off walkies with your mod unless you remove the battery.

@ribs
So far only issue is that I cannot turn off walkie-talkies. Car radios are fine. Unsure about the U.S HAM radio and whatnot. Will investigate. I'll try reaching out to the voiced radios and tvs / broadcaster voice creator. Thanks again for the mod!

I seemingly get issues with at least the broadcaster voice / voiced readio / TV mods. One of them, prolly the second one. Can check specifically if need be. I got the progress so far that I didn't use the older mod anymore and switched to this one which clearly shows the radio still running if you put it away, but no lines / voices play.

I would assume that it would work without these specific radio enhancing mods but maybe you could find a workaround or addition/compatibility to these mods :)
Thanks!

@abeletes
It should be, because it doesn’t change the vanilla function. If it isn’t, the other mod is probably turning the radio off in a different way. If that’s the case, please reach out. I will create another mod soon to work around these conflicts.

is this compatible with "Broadcaster Voice" alongside "Voiced Radio and TVs"?

also, love this mod overall, thank you ribs :steamhappy: <3

@Stakk This mod bypasses the vanilla "switch off" behavior when unequipping the radio. Other parts may still turn it off:

- Survivor radio turns off the radio every tick in a different method than the vanilla one. You need to patch it. See the discussion.
- The Java code does not turn off the radio but stops the transmission. The radio stays on but you cannot hear anything.
- I have not checked True Music yet.

For now, check the discussions for ways to bypass these issues. I am considering making a dedicated mod for this case, like "Keep That Radio On - Radio Stations" or something similar.

Thanks ribs for your work on this.
I am not sure if an issue I am having is related to your legacy version or not.

How is this the legacy version not as mod friendly?

The issue I am having (that may or not have to do with the legacy version), is that no music seems to have audio for me now. I am relatively new to B42 and I have a large mod list so not sure why its happening.
I use Survivor Radio(B42) and I have some 'True Music' mods. Survivor radio requires another mod as a dependent, then your mod(legacy version). Is there a specific load order I should be using for, where your mod goes before Survivor? Is it possibly an issue with using the legacy version? Thanks in advance.
