i guess i just misunderstood it as the item refusing to be an infinite pickup, instead of getting destroyed. :steamsad:

@kouga , that is what I mentioned on the description for mode 2. If the healing items are already maxed picking more will result in item removal but you'll get nothing.

@kurochama. i see, well im not sure about the correlation, but im encountering a bug where if im on mode 2 and i pick up more medkits past the limit, it just deletes the medkit on the floor into notihing and you cant get it back. my medkit limit is set to 1 btw

@ kouga , the item is dropped as single item with different amount of ammo clip & the ammo clip is also saved on a table to prevent the item count reset when picking different items by accident. For dropping only single item, this is to prevent too many items dropped at the same time.

btw, it really doesnt drop multiple stacked items when swapping, huh? just one item with a table inside it? it would have been nice for mode 2, but im not sure if that was done because of limitations or preference

@kurochama, thank you for the advice! i actually do that so ill get back to you. my problem right now is that i cant get on my computer to test as im busy with other things. but the behavior id notice was akin to the items suddenly disappearing from my inventory, turns out! its a bit hard to replicate, but picking up new items would sometimes just make it disappear when its on my back after a certain amount of time passes. just poof! gone


i couldnt get a chance to record it but ill do all of that when im able to. thanks!

@ kouga ,0.1 second of delay should give more than enough time to pick, as usually item is picked in less than 0.1 second. If you're not sure about which one of mods triggered that bug, you can disable all mods via "addonlist.txt" & use "Replace with" feature, to replace "1" with "0". Save your notepad but don't close it, as it will be used to undo "disable all" so you won't have to check your mods one by one. Then only enable this mod & try to test again with only this mod enabled.

awesome! i gave them a shot yesterday and was still having the same problems, so when im able to test again ill triple check for conflicting mods

Btw I was just letting you know that I updated Grenade Stack with the fix on grenade count reset when picking other grenade by accident. You can give a try.

@kouga , I added 0.1 second of delay on item removal when "medic_stack_mode" is set to 2. You can give a try. This should fix your bug where healing items disappeared just before you grabbed them.
& if you want to record video in simple way, you can use "record videoname" on console. This will generate a ".dem" file that can be played on L4D2 by typing "playdemo videoname". This file is located in the same folder as "addons" folder. Send this file to me in case if you still encounter that rare bug. But make sure to record in official maps instead, so I can play it right away without having to download the map.

my medkit slots are still in the same place, so thats probably not the issue. if im able to record what im experiencing ill go send it to you 👍

@ kouga ,I tested again by setting "medic_stack_limit" to 1, & I could still pick a medkit when I have no medkit in inventory slot. I wonder if you use some mods that changed slot for medkits, because the items can be stacked only if they use the original slots.

@ kouga , have you tested on higher stack limit? Did it only happen if the limit is 1? Probably I'll add a safety measure later to let the item stays for 0.1 second before removal.

i guess, my max medkit count is 1, would going from 0 medkits to 1 medkit really delete it as soon as i pick it up?

@ kouga , did you pick the healing items when you're already at max stacked items? Mode 2 will remove the healing items even if your stacked items are already maxed. I tested just few hours ago & I still got my medkit when I picked it while having no medkit. Probably I'll set new conditions later so the items won't be removed if the stadked items are already maxed.

@kouga , that's the feature of mode 2. Mode 2 will remove healing items you pick. So what's the bug about? Did the items get removed just before they go into your item slots?

im noticing a weird bug that im not sure how to 100% reproduce yet, but basically if i pickup pills or medkits it will just get absorbed in the table and i cant actually use it.

i have stack mode 2 and my medkit limit is 1, defib is 1, pills is 4, and adren is 4

@ kouga , that bug is fixed here (that's why I said on the description above like " You can stack different healing items by keeping swapping between 2 different items (like defib-medkit, or adrenaline-pills) "). The bug on "Grenade Stack" is actually also fixed, but I haven't uploaded it yet, as I still need to test it more.

i have a question as i cannot test right away. but will this cause the same bug as "grenade stack" where, lets say, picking up adrenaline while i have 4 pills in my consumable slot cause ALL BUT ONE of my pills to disappear? i really hope thats not the case, and it would be nice if that were also fixed in "grenade stack" mod honestly :>> thank you for your response in advance

@ L_M , well, today is your lucky day then :steamhappy: .I thought about this one just yesterday, as I felt that there's something missing if "Grenadier Mode" had "Paramedic Survivors" as the twin brother, but there was only "Grenade Stack" without its twin brother, so I decided to create the twin brother :steamhappy:

By the way, I was about to suggest to you a medic stack mod, like the throwable one, so it would be easier to stack meds without having to store them first before picking them up.

Turns out it’s already been made—really a dream come true.
