oh! if you have a way to get files to you, i have a working rendition of the Frackin Universe stat stuff for the coatlica that i made for myself. more than welcome to it to modify for your stuff.

i havent been able to reproduce the dig fly bug. might be an edge-case


most of the suggestions i made were along the lines of this race naturally has answers to almost everything you need it to do except be small and climb walls

with the head tech you can hoist yourself extremely far(based on how high your HP is) easily not needing hookshots or vines

@Ven for the dig+fly bug raggle will get 2 that as soon as they can and as 4 the swimming thing I'm not sure how we'll fix dat (also idk abt wall-clinging we'll keep that in mind)

so this is fun as hell to mess around with.

some thoughts and issues:

--if you core dive with dig+fly you crash the game:



--Honestly LOVE the snake mode ESPECIALLY since you can just pipe through all morphball gaps



--Snake mode needs a way to scrunch up like normal mode(hold crouch)

--Scrunching up in normal mode does not include 'bonus' segments from armor( i usually have a bit hanging off the ledge after scrunching)


-- there needs to be a wall-cling mode, might as well go all in and cover all the techs!

-- there needs to be a micro-mode(preferably with wall cling)

-- traversing underwater as Snake feels very slow!

i did use rpg growth(mostly to go all out to test tail lenght) , skiped most of the early game progress with it to just go all out with said tail lenght, so unless something crazy happens in the midgame, it should work just fine

Well the breath atks were at the beginning of the mod so it might need a few tweaks here and there and we might revamp it sometime

Well, i can understand it, but overall, they are not really worth investing in, without counting that they also get rid of the ability of using other sphere transformations to even beging to use it

Perhaps a rework could be so it cost no energy(or greatly reduce the use) because specially if you running race traits and it's slowly energy buildup

Is just rough to use for not much payoff

Maybe even try to replace some of the (sorry to say, but almost redundant) breaths with other type of proyectiles it could spit, boulders, hypno beams, or just poison spit

Like the idea, but the execution rn is a bit rough

(part 2)
right now, the tail feels little bit more than a cool visual, seeing your tail get bigger as you progress is satisfying, but not exactly usefull,sometimes just being better to just go all out damage

would be nice to tie this skills to tail length, like only being able to "mount" yourself in the tail while pressing shift once you have certain amount of hp, only being able to "swim in space" are other amoung, your tail becomign powerfull enough to be used as a wall at other thresholds, its just cool thing to have and possibly more realistic than to add abilities like the breaths, wich currently ,none of them are either good not satisfying to use, so maybe also making them increase in power with tail lenght would be other option

in general , giving players a reason to use and invest in tail seems like a natural way to progress the race, making it a bit more tanklike, along with probably also having more equipment focused around having high hp

still, cool stuff

(part 1)

this may be both a suggestion and a bug report, so i may as well put it here

i was doing some space things with the mech , and i suddenly unmounted, then i discovered that while pressing shift

You got full on movement in space, you can swim in space

and honestly, thats just so damn cool

not only that ,you can block enemies and projectiles with your tail, thats just...freaking amazing, using your tail as a wall

i know both of this are probably not intended, but hear me out

Little nitpick here: Please adjust the race name to be capitalized. (Particularly on the char. creation screen.) All races in vanilla are in full-caps, and even races like the Avali have the first letter capitalized. The full lowercase is hurting me, physically. lol

honestly This race is hella Lit. has a lot more perks then what it seems. sure there's no like weapons perks or anything Though i could only imagine they would use something like a Spear or Assault Rifle or Sniper probably because Snake logic wouldn't want people to get close due to big snake. firstly they can do a lot of stuff it's worth noting snake mode can fit into some of the "sphere only places" and they can navigate places incredibly well plus the ability to manipulate the body to raise and lower yourself and stuff gives you combat advantages. for example you can raise yourself up over obstacles to be able to shoot over them for example and similar things. it's a big of a jank race in how it works but it's incredibly Unique and useful

Maybe consider to add https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2744339686 as a requirement to actually use the race. Because without that mod, I could't start as a coatlica character. I am new to Starbound modding and the little info saying "This is a relatively small mod, with most of the content being focused in the Limbless Statue in your ship's locker. Select any ability to unlock the Snake Body tech, and activate it at any tech station." made me believe you kind of unlock to look like that from there and not in the character creation.
