i noticed u builded each bot extra granary, this is super, could you build them each two extra stones and few more ox cuz bot build only one ox per quarry, wonder how its economy affect with extra oxes waiting there for him, :)
Thank you for your time to write down your thoughts regaarding this map. When i created this map, it was intended for me and a couple of friends to play. Never expected it to get this many visitors tbh. Just wanted a map where you have 1 defender and a couple of attackers. (up to 6) if anyone wanted to try this. The idea was never really for the castle defender to win, but rather hold on for as long as possible.
With that said: What you are saying is very true. playing this map as a regular competative match would be rather unbalnaced, and alot of adjustments to the terrain, castle dicstance to wall etc needs to be changed. We also noticed these problems while playing. Next map i create i will make sure to take your thoughts into consideration if i decide to create a more competative map in the future! :)
Have a good day! @Creator
To sum it up:
Red's territory needs to be more compact. You can make irrepairable outer walls if you want. But there need to be sections that are not only defensible, but also possible to repair and reinforce.
Red's economy needs protection much more than besiegers' does. Besiegers can protect it easily - they produce armies 6x as fast. But once red loses his eco, he loses the game.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Strong segments exploitable through weak segments are no longer strong.
And this is my personal preference, but: red should be able to dig moats in the outer layers.
High ground gives red some advantage while defending the gates, but it gives more to the besiegers. It makes them impossible to drive out and gives them access to the castle's outer layer - where the bulk of red's eco is. They can also use the high ground to attack the heavily reinforced wall from the side - the high ground mitigates the height debuff towers give. The rest of the wall is next.
Red begins with a lot of units as well as a plethora of fire ballistae. This makes it unplayable without No rush. But with No rush, red's castle is incredibly easy to conquer. 10 min of no rush gives players more than enough time to set up huge eco and red cannot do a lot to attack it, because there are only a couple of pathways into besiegers' territory, each easily defended by brute force.
With outposts on, red has 4 against enemies' 6. Two of red's outposts produce knights. The other two outposts produce skirmishers, but they are pretty much irrelevant anyway as they are outside of castle walls and pretty much indefensible. Meanwhile besiegers get free catapults (not that they need them - they can easily build eco to mass produce them if needed). But, with or without outposts, red has very little fighting chance. The map is too large and the layout is honestly awful for red.
Thx man, you rly understand how it is when you are great but your fellow comunity-members cannot relate to my critisism to the creator who's been creating an awful map lore-wise
You guys do realize you're talking to the current number one ranked Stronghold player, right? The criticism is valid if it's coming from him...
To the creator of this map, thanks for adding another fun map in my rotation to pass time at work
The reason I was caught offguard is that I expected the defender not to attack. It is not justified at all. It is supposed to be a battle simulator. What enemy in LOTR, for example, in the defense of Minas Tirith. Gondor don't send out a bunch of soldiers with torches to burn down the enemy. No. They stand strong behind the wall and shoot projectiles. My experience was completely ruined. I am very disappointed with it because it was a fantastic simulator before my base burned down.
The skirmish seems to be good otherwise i just dont feel the simulator should be sending torches to burn my village
Bro, this is the least valid crashout I have ever seen. Gigantic L and skill issue, truly.
Aside, if you're so good, then how'd it happen that you got caught off-guard? Go make your own map then, show what a masterpiece you can create, instead of blaming a map creator who did a good job for one of your mistakes. You genuinely sound like an 8 year old who's just
I absolutely don't need to play better. i can guarantee that i'm a hundred times better than you. what you don't understand is that the defender should defend and not burn down my entire base that i fought with for almost two hours. the defender starts with a complete defense while i start with farmland. i build up a strong society and in just a few minutes everything is burned to the ground. the idea is that i should be able to attack in waves since the defender's base is so solid. but no. after my first attack there are still some left. it's kind of supposed to be an epic battle generator but it's impossible to get into when you're constantly worried that your base will burn down from a surprise attack from the defender. I Will give this battle skurning 3/10 for that reason. It’a not even that good. I can produce better and more high quality skirmish generators than this
Yours Truly:
Creator.
