Believe it or not, it is a vanilla bug in 1.6. You can check the same bug exists on turrets and mortars, even without my mod.
But I also encountered it, and it wasn't... ideal.
It's already reported as a bug, so hopefully will be fixed by RimWorld soon. Meanwhile I updated the mod and released my own fix. Should work as intended now.
In the new unstable Devs implemented the same change for vac barriers I did, and now they work everywhere again. This mod will stay as a vacdoors
I'm also trying to add a blue-glow to the upgraded doors, similar to the vacbarrier, but it prooves to be hard, especially with support for other mods in mind.
Steam not loading stuff as usual.
I doubt Tynan still develops the game, but yes, it is a controversial change. Maybe they will revert it when it goes live on a stable version.
Yes, it works on any 1.6 version.
Technically it is considered a fueling. I decided to use it as it's the least intrusive way to simulate "Upgrade" of the building. All I have to do is ensure that fuel is never consumed and check if its fully 'fueled' to activate the integrated Vacbarrier feature.
It should work with any modded door of any size, as long as it is "Airtight" (you can check it in the info) and powered (consuming electricity, like autodoor).
Fix: Vac barriers were not exchanging temperatures properly when not on
Vac barriers now completely uselss when not in space
