i started building the lmedium farm with solid fertilizer, but 3 days before the end of construction the game is crashing, am i the only one this happens to?

Alright, fooled around a bit.
Add this line below the fertilizer consumption "$WASTE_CONSUMPTION fertiliser 1". Works now, doesent produce that weird "i require an export slot in addition to an import."

It's actually my fault. Waste behaves differently than regular resources. I had to add an extra line to the code I didn't know about. I'll release an update soon and it will work this time.

The medium pure fertilizer greenhouse is broken for me. "Cannot store or export Fertilizer", all inputs provided and nothing happens. When i removed the fertilizer requirement and storage it begun working again.

Why not create two diffrent versions? One close to the original versoion, and one more realistic?
I've checked all the other greenhousemods in the past, but I've never considered using those, for reasons I no longer recall. I liked the original mod when it was released, but found it too cheaty to use later, especially in the winter. That was before fertilizer was added to the game.

Yeah, I understand. I wanted to expand on the idea a bit, as the building has been converted into a heating plant. Now, when I convert the greenhouses back to a factory, I will significantly reduce the heat generated.

As for other heating methods, there are other greenhouse mods that implement this. However, I want to stick with the author's original idea.

I'm curious about this mod. Having worked in greenhouses myself, I find it hard to understand where all exess heat comes from though. It should require heat, not produce it. Depending on the outside temperature like other buildings of course. That way it will be balanced for those using other biomes. It also open up allot of oportunities to choose heat source yourself instead of coal only.

As for the crop output, I'm not sure about this change. I don't want the greenhouses to be too op, and I want to preserve the original author's intention.

I did change building.ini , It works also without water managment on.
and it produced 42 tons of crops per day , just like 1 food factory needed.

I did some testing and it turns out, unfortunately, it doesn't. When I changed the building type from factory to heating plant, the game no longer adjusts consumption to game settings. The mod no longer functions without water.

Version (14. Aug.): Greenhouses doesn't work when water option turned off. They could be built, but don't work at all. :-(

Soon, I'll be rolling out an update that will likely remove existing greenhouses from saves. If you don't want to lose the building, make a backup of the current version of the mod.

wait the $NO_LIFESPAN now works on factories properly? last time I tested it the factories kept complaining that the machinery was broken and needed to be replaced

Wait. I already tested $NO_LIFESPAN on a greenhouse and it worked fine. Also I tried changing the building type but it requires a few additional changes so that the game doesn't crash. I will be testing this soon.

you could remove machine replacement by changing the building type to a $TYPE_POWERPLANT and then adding $NO_LIFESPAN
Yes you need to change it to a powerplant if you want to use $NO_LIFESPAN as it borks anything labeled as a factory. Also just to be clear that also removes the need to rebuild the building as well

and why do you need then 10 MH of Power? For light? Sorry this makes no sence i will change this all for my self then. When you turn off Heating in Option then nothing in the game works? People need Heat in House many other needs Heat what is with this?

Coal isn't for the workers but for the greenhouse itself. It's meant to heat up and keep the plants inside warm, and since original author decided on coal fired heating and not electricity, coal it is.

Some people play with the heating option turned off. Without it greenhouse simply wouldn't work. Besides, the coal remains from the original version.

I tried to implement all the advice for the mod, check the changelog. I still haven't found a solution to disable machine replacement. However, I'll keep trying to figure it out.

I would also suggest having both the large and small green house have the same input and output per person (I already did that on my end as well as boosting crop production and reducing workers a little)

Interesting, but either way, the original version didn't require machine replacement and yours do. I'm no modder so i don't know how much, if any, impact you have on costs of building maintenance and machine replacement, i'd guess it's automatically calculated based on the original building cost? So maybe you could tweak that a bit. Also thanks for response.

Fair point. I'll change some of these things as soon as possible.

As a side note, I didn't change the building type. The building was already a factory and was created before the machine replacement mechanic even appeared in the game.

I wouldn't necessarily call it fixed. With your tweaks, you need to provide water and get rid of sewage, which is fair but it only brings more costs to operate. Not to mention you changed the type of the building to a factory which means it requires machine replacement, which cost of is astronomical on top of the astronomical cost of building maintenance. At standard 50% maintenance it costs 77 tons of steel which is 28% of the original building's steel, not to mention that you also increased the amount of steel required to build it. And now the worst, machine parts. at 50% you need yet another 66 tons of steel, 53 tons of mechanical parts, which equate roughly to 100 tons of steel, and 20 tons of electronic components. At that point it would be cheaper to demolish the whole greenhouse and rebuilt it and it would probably be cheaper. I'm glad someone tried to fix the greenhouse which is a nice and niche factory, but you tweaks sadly made it even worse.

factories that produce crops do not show up in any category, you have to hit the icon that has a building and says mod or mods on the left side of your screen and then search greenhouse

I am not able to see it in the game in any category. I had the same with original mode.
I checked tab where are farms and fields and it was empty.

The greenhouse is in the 'Factory' category in the mods tab. The building can be placed freely without any restrictions.
