@themightygeek thanks the compliment, i dont have them uploaded to the workshop as many of them are purpose built for this mod and have diliberate weakpoints favoring form over function. I would be willing to publish them in a collection/world but bear in mind you'd probably have to tweak them somewhat to suite your use case

Do you have BPs for the Grids in this mod? Al of of them are really amazing.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I will reduce the frequency of the component merchants in my next update, along with some other behavioral fixes and prefab adjustments (I did forget to change a certain setting in the component merchants EC). I will aim to release it sometime this weekend or later today.

hmm that's pretty unusual luck, i've been playing with this mod on for a few days and havnt gotten any merchants. Their frequency is set to 1 just like most of the encounters, I was considering reducing it to .8 to make them a bit rarer since.. they do have some decent loot on em. What planet/moon are your on? They are also supposed to call in drones when they get attacked, i'll look into that to make sure its working as intended.

There is something you can do if its bothering you, head over to your steams workshop download folder find the mod id 3535735081 (this one), open the data folder > Spawn Groups > Spawn_Groups_Planetary_Encounters > open with a text editor, scroll to the bottom where you'll see the merchants, change the frequency to a lower number, save, restart space engineers, see if you get different spawns

yo been playing with this for a while now and it seems the component traders just keep spawning like every time i load the save up? ive gotten like 4 now and its really crazy lol especially since the just let you take their ship down with no weapons or anything

Thanks for that! I had fun with the wrecks, they were requested by not4you403. I'll add more encounters over time but i wanted to play with the new survival mechanics/encounters for a bit so i can get a better idea of how much food is suitable for looting and get inspiration from keens encounters. I hope you keep enjoying the mod!

amazing mod mate cant believe basically nobody has made a good vanilla encounter pack yet with out cool it is and how you can add your own wrecks and stuff

the frequency/weights assigned to the prefabs in my mod are identical to the vanilla ones so as not to favor one over the other. you could adjust the Frequency to 50 in my mod just to confirm they will spawn, otherwise its just a waiting game. it can also depend on the terrain in some cases, as certain prefabs will only spawn on certain voxel types while others dont care

should be stored here: SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\3535735081

then navigate to Data>spawn groups

then search for frequency and adjust those really high.

this is just to confirm you'll actually get the spawns or if your really hell bent on seeing them but otherwise they will spawn eventually, its just a matter of when

hmmm I cant say whats going on, ususally removing NPC grids works for me. If it has MVE in the entity list its one of mine. you could check the log, see if there are any exceptions or errors?

Nothing on the planet. Decided to spawn in space, 25km from my original area after setting min/max. Had a Pirate hideout grid spawn, not sure if yours, yet doesn't look like something that is supposed to be in space but more in a hill of a planet

right the planetary encounters are handled seperatly so shouldnt show under GESAP. try adjusting min and max to .1 and .1 temporarily so your only waiting for 6 seconds for a spawn then travel 25+ km away in spectator and teleport your player there, save, reload, see if anything spawns. make sure there are only grids you own in the entity list (Basically starting NPCs from scratch)

Adjusted min to 1 and max to 10, nothing. Did alter other values listed at bottom of guide too/

Not sure if it matters yet did the GESAP command for MES to see what is eligble for spawning yet nothing on lift (probably because this doesn't need MES)

you can access the entity list in game with alt + F10

try adjusting your min and max timers in your save file then reload and travel around a bit, or delete NPC grids in the admin menu under entity list, you may have to refund the PCU. Can also try increasing encounter density if you havn't done so already

Are you in space or on a planet? I was able to confirm just now that MVE and Vanilla encounters will still spawn in space with MES

Originally I did when update rolled around, but now nada. Going to run a test yet think IMDC encounter is hogging all the space

To my knowledge that is how MES was designed as at the time MES was released the vanilla spawning systems were not as robust or well implemented. It was designed to take over spawning of Cargo ships and Random Encounters so it disables the vanilla handling of those encounters and takes over. By default vanilla cargo ships and random encounters should not be suppressed.

Long story short, thats normal for MES, but you should still be getting vanilla encounters. I will be doing more tests in my mod and MES along with some other MES encounter mods to see if they will still spawn. I know planetary encounters are fine and you will get them with MES enabled

So found the guide and followed the stuff to change, but I am running into the issue where MES overwrites things such as "allow Encounters"

The smallest encounter is 439 PCU, with the largest so far around 6000. In my testing MVE has played with MES just fine and I make sure MVE doesnt have any errors or warnings from build info before releasing updates.

I would recommend adjusting the <PlanetaryEncounterExistingStructuresRange> In your save file as MES can indirectly interfere with the vanilla spawning system by taking up all the land within the lockdown range. The guide linked towards the bottom of the page can give you more info.

As for cargo ships, I think MES handles those and I havn't dinked around too much in space with MES enabled on my test/build world to say "yea it'll work". BUT if you get vanilla encounters with MES enabled you'll get mine as well

Does this play well along MES encounters? Mentions under 5K PCU yet is there a small baseline (example 350 ish?)
