Amazing map, as others have said, this borders on what can be defined as art! truly an incredible undertaking!
My only issue is: the scale! I love it, my PC doesn't. As Niewyspany mentioned before me, there is serious performance issues and lag spikes due to the amount of buildings the game has to render. Even when turning graphic settings to minimum, any action that changes the 3D model of the map, a change in polygon count, either altering terrain or placing/removing a building causes the game to freeze and stutter for durations increasing from around 5 up to 30 seconds. The biggest lag spikes happened to me when ugrading roads, and if my camera was pointed in the right direction, I could see a "wave" coming towards me from the opposite side of the map as the game seemed to update every single building.
My PC is no longer as new as it once was (it was the best money could buy back in 2018) and the issues I have experienced may not occur on everybody's game, however, fair warning!

does anyone else have performance issues on this map alone? every action i take causes i 1-2 seconds freeeze of the entire game (doesnt happen on other saves which run 100% smoothly)

@delta51 Thanks for the reply. I tried using that method when I started but coudn't make it work. Now I'm using my own method of texture replacement so different overlays can be seen on terrain map. I also use that exact same map library, specifically for my Tallinn Estonia map. It is very cool when overlays work and you kinda follow the map placing streets and buildings. Again, congrats on a fascinanting map and let me know if we can colaborate in the future.

@c1MKEvBZ, thank you. I followed the method described in this guide: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2919093841 , i.e. Tangram for terrain, and satellite maps loaded as a texture in the editor to trace the streets.

Additionally, I was using old topographic maps, such as this one: http://maps.mapywig.org/m/German_maps/series/025K_TK25/2553_Stettin_1938_2.jpg to determine which streets/buildings/forests etc. existed back in 1945.

This is a beautiful, detailed and accurate map. The amount of hours invested on it is remarkable. I wonder what method u used to recreate exactly the position of streets and terrain. I have my own but this has definetly surpassed everything I could have done. Congratulations and thank you for this really, really god work. One of the best maps so far I've seen in the game, almost a piece of art.

Just wanted to say this map makes me happy. I love 1:1 scale maps, and I love populated maps, and I love historically accurate maps, and you have done all three! Wonderful, thank you for creating it

Hey, this is absolutely beautiful. I was frustrated, as my partner's grandparents lived on the port's island, but couldn't find any map that has it big enough to look good.
Do you by any chance have a version without buildings, maybe even roads? I'd love to play some realistic early start from empty map lol :)

@Cyvil, thank you for the kind words. It took about 300 hours over 3 months or so. A fair bit of research went into it, but, thankfully, all online. 3D view on Google Maps in particular is a godsend. I remember making a map of the city for another game some 10 years ago (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=517000010) with just 2D maps and Street View to rely on, and it was far less efficient. Although that other map was much smaller and required no historical research, so I suppose it evens out.

Well done! This is astounding work!

Absolutely insane map, this must have taken months of work including archive visits. To see my home town modelled to the building (found my highschool, the place where my old workplace was built, my old house is just out of the scope of the map) is an almost surreal feeling.

I just wish the screenshots were labelled what area they're looking at, it is sometimes hard to tell, and I >>want<< to know!

I'm not sure about the playability, will test it myself later, but I am sure this map deserves to be somewhere in the top of all time. Absolute masterpiece.
