Could you add an option to choose which resources to mine? (similar like how you choose what to scan), and with an option of "any".

I'm on v1.5 and my mechs are drilling, they're trying to drill Cinnabar from another mod but nothing's coming out, he's been there for a few days before I noticed.

Can they drill modded minerals or is it because I'm on v1.5?

edit: put him on Uranium too but nothing's coming out still.

I wanted to ask if it would be possible to make the mining speed of tunnelers actually affect their deep drilling speed?
Right now I’m using the Ultratech Tunneler (from Tiered Mechs), and while it works great thanks to your mod, it still mines very slowly compared to its tech level (It has 360% Mining Speed). It feels a bit limiting in terms of resource generation, especially considering how much stronger and more advanced it is supposed to be.

Do you think it would be possible to tie the tunneler’s mining speed stat into the drilling speed?

@Professor H. Farnsworth I'll need the mod's packageId [the one you set up in the mod's about.xml file] too, it's needed for the MayRequire part.
Once I have that then it should take me no more than a minute to add support for your mechs and update the mod :p

I.... For some reason.... Assumed that this would make your tunnelers deep drill for some reason.. But this is so much better and an instant DL for this.

@Professor H. Farnsworth that gets handled by the patch in ExtraJobsThinkTreePatches.xml.

It's way easier for me to add support for your mod, but if you wanna make it easier for me, then you can just gimme the PawnKind defs of the mechs and your mod's id.

I add support by pretty much just adding another list element like this:
"<li MayRequire="Sobb.AdvancedMechanoids">Mech_AdvancedTunneler</li>"

@MrKociak Hey, I'd like to make a patch for my two tiers of Tunneler Mechs, but I will gladly admit I have no clue where you define that they're deep drillers (your DLL seems to rely on an xml definition and can't find where you patch that on to Tunnelers).

Could you add a Dead Man Switch support to the mod? I saw a comment saying Shaft Workers should work but they don't seem to seek out ore nodes like Tunnelers do. Regardless, great mod!

While it's only hinted at on the mod page and not even in the mod options, the Chougou Mechs does have an Anomaly-exclusive mech that can do mining by default (the Chrysalis Maid).

@Sparkasaurusmex I'll have to look into that mod later, cuz the drilling stuff was made with biotech mechs in mind, so I dunno if that mod's robots would work with this mod without extra effort on my part.

@Lethargy ok so I've added support to some of them:
ExGT Bio Mechanoid - supported
Wolfein Race - supported
Milira Race - currently not supported...cuz that's a lotta mechs that can do mining and I'm feeling too lazy today for this
Chougou Mechs - not supported cuz if they do only mine if a setting is active, then enabling drilling would be a bit iffy

From Milira, I could be wrong, but I think every one of the mechs, called Pawn, Knight, Rook, Bishop, Paladin, Guard, Captain, and Striker, as well as the "II" versions of them, can all do drilling.
From Wolfein, I think it's just the "Manufacturing-Type Civilian Unit".
And from Chougo and ExGT Bio Mech mods, just the ones I listed already.
I could be wrong, but I think that's all of them. Again, not extensively researched or anything.

Hiya, love the mod, wanted to mention that as far as my (admittedly lazy) testing goes, I don't think there's support for the mechs added by the Milira Race mod, the Wolfein Race mod, or the Chougo Mechs mod (it's important to note that the Mule Maid from Chougo Mechs can only do mining if it's enabled in the settings).

@Pasaway it'd be doable, all I'd need to do C# code-wise is change the check for whether or not a pawn is a Tunneler [or any other digging mech] to instead be a check for whether or not a pawn has a specific item equipped.

Tho I currently have no plans to make that a proper mod cuz I'm busy with other projects :/

I love this mod. Do you think you might ever make a mod with this function for regular pawns?
I often use a jack hammer (Toolmetrics) and/or adv. drill arms (FSF adv. bionics) so it would fit thematically.

im having a similar issue with the tunnellers just kinda toddling off after a single drill, maaybe you could have a setting to increase they check for drillable areas?
