I believe that is because I tweaked the prestige good modifiers, which didnt do anything until the most recent update. I will look into it when I have the time.

hello, I added this mod and it seems I have run into a glitch, not sure what is causing it. The Tea prestige good (Matcha) becomes "High Quality Tea" with a different icon, and the Steel (Kamaishi Cast Steel) becomes "Bells". Could is be a mod conflict or something else? Thanks!

Japan's rapid modernization ensures that anything you pick will be wrong for at least some of the time period, but Arisaka and his line of guns had a far greater influence on this time period overall than the Tanegashima or the Samurai armorers that based it on Portuguese designs in the 1500s.

Just another quick suggestion, the prestige good for the unique Japanese small arms company you added is called 'Matchlock Rifle'. You also name that company 'Tōsei gusoku-shi,'

The gun is a clear reference to the Tanegashima, and the company to the Samurai Armorers, this is very wrong. In 1836, there would have been a few tanegashimas still in service in Daimyo armories, but they had been obsolete for some time even for isolationist Japan.

Personally, I recommend renaming the company to 'Arisaka Design Bureau' after Colonel Arisaka Nariakira who oversaw the early development of Imperial Japan's arms industry and it's local designs, and the prestige arm to 'Arisaka Type 38' the first locally designed Japanese armament exceeded western designs

One quick note: please add a 'z_' to the beginning of your localization files so they don't overwrite other company localizations or fail to load.

My friend and I found out that for some reason your germany company and japanese company mods block each other. We tried switching around their position in the load order but it just doesnt load the other country's companies. E.G. Japan top, german bottom -> japanese companies are not loaded. The other way around vice versa.

right, Ill fix it eventually, right now Im out of the Vic3 phase, I assume Im gonna fix and realease all the unreleased stuff (Benelux and USA company packs) next time I get into the game :)

I've found the reason. The resolution of the DSS images is incorrect. They need to be uniformly modified to 256*256.

@Zippy There is a limited number of prestige goods in one game, and the other mods you are running used up most of the slots, thus the game filled some of the prestige goods from this mod with those instead.

Some of these are really too powerful. The +10% birthrate one, in particular, is too strong.

Datsun is the predecessor to Nissan, and founded way before the end date of 1936. Toyota produced their first car in 1936 so not really time period accurate

Kikkoman is producing sweets for me for some reason. The company details says it should be soy products but the factories are producing sweets and the market screen also has sweets as being produced. Company screen says soy.

@PoKa, probably not coming, at least not soon because these mods are originally intended for just enhancing my own experience and I kinda just decided to upload them because why not. Therefore I only make them for countries I actually enjoy playing as (like Japan or any German Nation); I wouldnt hold my breath waiting, next one is probably gonna be a chinese company mod

I have no idea if you're taking requests, but can you add a prestige tea company? Tea was always a huge deal in Japan. Well, mostly since the 1300s. Maybe name it something like Marukyu Rkoyamaen," they've been a company since the early 1700s, and they deal in premium matcha.

I looked into it and the legitimacy thing is broken in vanilla too. It's a reported and confirmed bug.

as for the legitimacy modifier, I am aware it doesnt apply, I have no idea why however since I coded it the same as in vanilla, help appreciated. Also thinking of fixing Kikkoman and changing the kimono Icon (i dont like it) as well as the good to luxury clothes. Am currently recovering from a trip so may take a few days if Im lazy.

Should the clothing company prestige good kimono be luxury clothes instead of just clothes?

As it stands if you have prestige [normal] clothes then you would be incentivized to not use silk PM's in textiles to maximise the prestige good over generic luxury clothes ­– which doesn't really make sense from an RP point of view as Japan. Also kimono are traditionally made from silk, no?

And as others already said, the +10 legitimacy prosperity bonus doesn't apply and kikkoman formation is bugged.

Like jawi256 says, Kikkoman doesn't work because you put is_building_type = building_food_industries instead of is_building_type = building_food_industry
