Great map and puzzles.. However I thought the speed track sucked.After I spent a couple of hours and over one hundred attempts, I just got a cheat code and flew over the fence to get the keys. I enjoy Talos because of the logic and puzzles to solve. If I want to play a race game, I'll get Mario Brothers or something :-)

Also, I managed to get the star in Egypt while having the reset switch on.
This pretty much follows the intended solution, just without using the fans cause they don't stick cubes to the wall anymore.
Somehow on my playthrough i had a cube floating mid air, that saved me 1 cube overall but i reckon it is possible to do without the bug
That one made my day lol

Next so far: the star in Rome. Instead of
- using the jammer from Infiltration toward Spark
- avoiding the cancelling of the replicator (which also requires the key),
- setting up a few beams from different puzzles
- getting to the swtich somehow

I just go up the stairs, put the cube there, go on top of it and aim at the plasma portal for the star. Takes a few seconds to aim but it works like a charm. Depending on the cube placement it might be hard to replicate though. Upping the walls a tiny bit won't hurt.

I'll check the other puzzles later, so far this campaign is great!

Hello.

Been playing this for a little bit, and I believe I found a couple unintended solutions.
edited to add spoilers

Box Padlock : i can jam a cube into any connector above the blue receivers. I even got 2 of them like that on one playthrough, so 8 remaining cubes to deal with the other 2 lasers makes it trivial. I believe that is far from intended. Even getting 1 there leaves 3 cubes per beam so permanent blockage or red beams.
Sure it's not as fast as the intended solution, but it sort of breaks the puzzle too much.
It is somewhat finicky but not that hard to do once you jump into the plasma portals that block red beams. (this happens partly because of the purple plasma wall above somehow, and mainly because that location is reachable)

@captainford Very nice suggestions! Thanks! Tho your solution, altough technically a cheese, involves understanding the mechanism of the puzzle, that's fine by me. Like I said, totally intended :P

Or you could make the walls the kind that you can't stand on, but I haven't used the editor so I'm not sure if that's an option, and it also might only make it more annoying to execute.

This is also only possible because I have exactly 10 cubes. With just one less, my cheese wouldn't work at all.

I thought about raising the beams so 10 cubes wouldn't be enough to block all of them, but that would also change the timing of the lock.

And I guess you could also add a fan to blow the blocks off.

But it is a funny solution and picking a lock is pretty thematic, too. :winter2019joyfultearsdog:

Plus, you did say something about anything that seems janky being obviously intended. :P

@Neiser I did go back and solve it the intended way. It's much faster, and the only reason I didn't figure it out the first time is that I didn't connect that the fans were powered up before the doors were. I'm a bit off my game atm.

After looking at it, the easiest way to prevent this cheese would be to move the fans further away from the wall. To set the first block down I have to stand on two others, and the only way to get all ten up is by floating up with them on the fans. If I can't reach the blocks on the wall while I'm floating, this isn't possible. That said, I also tried to do something similar on the other side first, and moving the fans closer to that side might reveal a totally different cheese involving putting blocks on the diagonal plasma doors.

You could also come up with another way to slow the player down.

@Neiser By standing on the last box and blocking the blue beam I'm able to make it in. It's not even all that tight, I've got time to look back and watch the blue target power up.

Hint 1: Use the connectors to intermittently power both receivers on and off, both receivers at the same time
Hint 2: One connector goes linked with the red source and the static connector
Hint 3: Second connector goes linked to the first connector and the static connector such that the laser intercepts to form a "blinker"
Hint 4: Third connector is linked to the second connector and the blue receiver such that it intercepts the laser and forms a "blinker"

This was one of the first puzzles I tried for the demo, and it absolutely filtered me; I didn't even make it out of Egypt. Almost three months later and nearly three hours of puzzle solving, I loved it. Brilliant map; the puzzles are all solid, and the visuals are top-notch. 10/10. I'm hoping you find the time to make another puzzle one day.

@roehrensockel No boxes are needed in the parkour area of the Egyptian stage. If you can't reach it by jumping, you need to dash jump. If you miss, you can rewind with the R key.

I have solve 3 puzzles but the next puzzle need 3 cubes to jump over the wall, i have found the cubes but by the steel door i need the key in the near area. I have test to jump more than 20 attempts from all positions and with place the other 2 cubes but the distance is to wide 😭, whats my error.

Even doors that seem to have no meaning have meaning. To get a star, you need to combine elements outside the puzzle . hint: the door that opens with a key is used to get out of the puzzle while keeping the effect of the recording machine.

where is the gate for the key you get from the speedrun? i never want to do that again, but i cant find the gate to 'checkpoint' it open which means i cant reset or leave

Very nice puzzles. However, I dislike “Getting Over it” and “Mine Bender”. Very often the guidance to the mine and buzzer does not work as intended.
