Settlements and other planet-wide dungeons are not biome-based. So planets typically have a limit of 3 per planet, because of how massive those can be. Having no more secondary biomes doesn't affect planet dungeon count at all.
@Rib
I mean... Like every other planet affected, it'll only have the main biome, and any mini-biomes. But the main biome may still be randomized per Unknown planet? I have no idea, I don't actually use FU.
If planets now only have one main biome, I guess that means we'll need to visit more planets to find those races, more exploration, right?
Oh, I probably should've added test patches for detecting if there's the "secondaryRegions" in the fist place...
I'll update the mod sometime to cover this problem.

Nice, thank you so much!
With this updated explanations I see that this mod is exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks again for the great modding, I really appreciate your works
Oh my goodness, sorry- no they do not! Absolutely not!
Those are mini biomes and those get to stay! Mini biomes are wonderful and provide a good variety in a way that makes sense, usually!
Mini biomes =/= secondary biomes.
Secondary biomes are, plainly, another planet's primary biome on a different planet.
Jungle is its own planet, right? But jungle can appear as a secondary biome on a forest planet as well.... (I can see how it can get confusing.)
I hear that in older versions of Starbound, they didn't have this whole secondary biome thing. That each planet was their main biome, but had mini-biomes for variety!
Maybe looking at the wiki would help?
This mod only gets rid of the "secondary biomes" part:
https://starbounder.org/Forest
does your mod remove biomes like rainbow palm deserts, or frosty llama hills, or healing water flower forests or eye tree patches?
(these biomes usually don't have a whole planet dedicated to them, or at least I haven't yet seen those planets and removing them will make unique resources unaccessible, that is why this question is important for me)
from your previous answers it looks like no biomes like those would be in game at all - no matter modded or not - do I understand correctly?
I don't know internal game terms for this two types of secondary biomes to phrase my question better, sorry
These are great questions! I'll answer 'em here and then update the mod's description to help.
1. This mod only removes secondary regions from planets, but secondary biomes still exist - because they're usually just the primary region of another planet lol. Removing the actual biomes themselves would destroy everything. I just remove the possibility of a secondary region!
2. This mod intentionally has a priority of 9999, so that any mods which edit a planet get their change in first, then at the very end, this mod comes along and removes the secondary region anyway. If a mod only has secondary biome content... It'd be useless to pair that with this mod - because it'd still remove all that.
@COVID-19
I'm pretty sure it adds a ton new "planet variants" and such that make sense based on the biomes! I don't personally use it, though.
1) does this mod remove only the secondary biomes that have their own planets, or all the secondary biomes including those withous thair separate planet type?
2) how does compatibility with mods that add planets and biomes work? again for mods that have their separate planets it looks simple, but what if a mod only adds their content as secondary biomes?
Two mods (that I know of) already do that! "Starburst" and "More Sensible Secondary Biome Distribution" .
I hope you have fun!
@Leonard
Unfortunately I got distracted and left my PC several times while making this, but... If I cutout all the extra bits, maybe 1-2 hours or less? I'm not really sure, thanks to all the times I was away or had to take care of something else lol. The "modders resources" that came out recently for planets helped a lot - I didn't have to unpack every single mod to get IDs.
@Magenta Face
Oh wow, I'm actually honored you say that! I was kinda expecting people to not be too interested, because it's a bit random on my part lol.

I mean... It won't crash, but... This mod intentionally loads after every other mod, and should remove every single secondary biome from planets, so, uh... Yeah, it's safe.
But if you're going for varied secondary biomes, I'd avoid this mod - it does the very opposite of what those two do.
Two mods (that I know of) already do that! "Starburst" and "More Sensible Secondary Biome Distribution" .
I made this because I just generally like the idea of needing to visit multiple planets to get specific resources, spawns, plants, etc. It makes the space exploration part of the game... actually feel like exploration, for me at least!
I want more of an incentive to search around, rather than finding a lot of what I need on a handful of planets.
Yeah, I got tired of seeing weird biome combos while exploring!
Thank you!
